Because Israel is dull of hearing, God commands Ezekiel to act out Israel's captivity. God gives interpretation, and tells those in captivity once again that judgment is falling now. The Israelites had a saying that fulfillment of God's visions was far off; do we live like Christ's coming is far off, or, as we should, like it could be any time? They did not live as God's people, as if God was real and most important -- do we do the same, in our mostly-comfortable, easy lives? Is our response to God's commands only sentiment and good intentions, or is it lived out with action?
