2. JESUS THE REJECTED KING (v. 6-15) * A known treasonous, murderer (Barabbas) was wanted free vs innocent Jesus * Pilate recognized Jesus' innocence, but "went with the crowd" * Every time we sin, we reject the King. We are all Barabbas - guilty of insurrection against the King of kings
3. JESUS THE MOCKED KING (v. 16-20) * As true king, Jesus deserves all honor, glory and praise
4. JESUS THE CRUCIFIED KING (v. 21-32) * Jesus endured horrific physical torture * Treated as a brutal criminal * Not seen as triumphal king |
