In the Bible, a name was more than the vocal sound by which a person was identified. Names had meaning and the meaning of a name was supposed to say something about the person who bore the name. To remember the Name of the Lord is to call to mind who and what He is. Such remembering can be brought about only by the Lord Himself. And when He does it, it brings with it the Presence and blessing of the Lord. The fullest name of our God is "Jesus," (Jehovah is Salvation) for that name encompasses all that God is and all He has done and is doing. As the Savior, He displays all the attributes of God in their brightest revelation. And as He causes us to remember this name, it brings His presence near for He is "God With Us," and it brings all God's blessings near for, "we are blessed with all spiritual blessings ... in Him."
