Leaving the Gospel of Luke for a Sunday, I chose to deal with the issue of the people of God having to suffer and why that is necessary. All things work for the good of God's people, even and especially trials and suffering so that His people may be conformed to the image of His Son (Romans 8:28, 29). This message traces the plan of God in Hebrews to fulfill the purpose of Christ to make them perfect though suffering. He was made perfect through suffering (Heb. 2:10) in order to sanctify the many sons He was bringing to glory.
