What Christian does not sense his need for spiritual strength? That fact is that God's people are called to live out of the Christ's gracious fullness. The burnt offering of Leviticus chapter one is first of all about the perfect life of Christ as He lived it God-ward in the strength of the Spirit becoming obedient unto death. You are united with Christ, you are called to live a life that ascends to God in divine strength much like Christ did. Amazingly, these offerings in Leviticus are called " the bread" or rather "the FOOD OF GOD (22:7 "for it is His food" New American Standard Version) ." Not in any literal physical sense. God asks from us what the offerings symbolized, in this case a life that ascends in divine energy. Fire, mentioned eight times in the chapter refers to divine energy, not Hell fire. Every child of God has the opportunity to greatly please God, even as a person is satisfied with their favorite meal. Every child of God also has the capacity to nauseate God: Revelation 3:16.
