Mt. Gilboa, The Mount of Fear_091 Samuel 28:4-7 Judges 7:1-7 Fear causes Christians to struggle to share the gospel because they are concerned what others might think of them. Fear causes believers to have difficulty in trusting God by faith and trusting in the promises of Word. Fear causes believers to wonder if God can provide for their needs or solve their problems. When we read of two key events that took place at Mount Gilboa, we find the matter of "fear" is associated with this mountain. 1 Samuel, you will find that King Saul and his sons died in battle on Mount Gilboa. Fear of living is one reason why people commit suicide. They have come to a point where they feel hollow, hopeless and helpless. The second story about Mt. Gilboa takes place in Judges 7. It is the story about Gideon. when we disobey the Lord that fear is a consequence of our rebellion. Our strong wills make it difficult for us to do what God commands us to do, but it is in our surrender to the Lord that we find our victory. Being prepared will help you to conquer your mountain of fear.
