This is part 1 of a 4 part series on Sanctification within the series on John 17. The others are:

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, says the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you (2 Cor 6:17)
It can sadly be said of too many professing Christians, that they refuse to put off the world, because they love the world. They love that which God hates! Though manifested in outward behavior and action, the problem lies not so much is what Christians do, but what is in the heart. Where hatred of evil is lacking, it is because love of the Lord is lacking (Ps. 97:10, Jn 14:15). Our affection for Christ must outweigh our craving for the enjoyment of ease and comfort, so that as we love Christ, we will experience a hatred for the things of the world. Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. (1 Jo 2:15)

Great Sermon! Loved the Sermon and so true. We are looking for another church because our church has become so worldly and big. lots of entertainment. country club atmosphere.

Great Sermon! I love this and want to listen to it over and over. We are indeed not of this world, but we live in it, as unclean as it is. Your CD and the holy scripture are weapons we can use to keep ourselves holy for He is holy.

Very helpful ,clarifying sermon! ..There is so much misunderstanding and confusion regarding the doctrine of sanctification. This sermon has helped me sort out some of my own error in understanding this doctrine. A timely, thought provoking message. Well worth listening to. I have listened twice already. Looking forward to listening to the others in this series too.

Timely Message! Self-indulgence and sufficiency is indeed a sin that puts the world in the Christian and keeps them from having the heart of God. I am grateful for this message. The heart that truly longs for and seeks after God, and seeing sufficiency in Christ alone is one who can be truly in this world and not of it. I pray that the Lord will give me more of a desire for Him and to know and understand Him.
Regardless of what the majority may do in Christendom, we can't look to the world's standards as a measure to judge heavenly standards. When we see, with a heart of true contrition, God's divine standards, through the finished work of Christ, we can rightly focus on the goal set before us with great reverence and love for the One who redeemed us. Glory be to God for this exhortative message of truth.
