The Unpredictable Election (Ecclesiastes 9:11-18)Be aware that life is uncertain—totally unpredictable. The world believes that politics is a driving force in everything. But Jesus said the exact opposite. He said, no, no, it doesn't matter. He said, my kingdom is not of this world. Instead, Jesus says, the Church is what matters more than anything else. It is God's intent that through the church, the manifold wisdom of God would be known (Ephesians 3:10). "But God put everything under the authority of Christ," which, by the way, includes politics. Jesus does not belong to one political party and I want to tell all Christians we don't need to make HIM into any one political party platform, Republican or Democrat. May the strong continue to care for the weak and the well help the hurting. Let us pray that, in this continuing crisis, we have been reminded of the kind of cooperation for What American Christians should do After 2020 election season. 1. Realize God answered prayer. 2. Accept the results with humility and thanksgiving. 3. Seize the chance God has given us. Regardless of the outcome of the election, let the calm spirit of Christ be seen in you. God is sovereign. His ultimate will is going to be fulfilled. Winning are getting your elected official is not a signal to let up on prayer; it is a call to accelerate prayer. Col 4:2-6 "Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving. One day we will all lay our crowns at His feet, and every feeble knee will bow, and every faltering tongue will confess that He is Lord. Regardless of who is the President of the United States, God is still the God of the Universe. |
