Three things are impossible in this world. 1. To know God through the wisdom of this world. 2. To be saved by keeping the law of God. 3. For man to redeem and rescue himself, by any natural or supernatural means, apart from being graciously born again, through believing the word of the cross.
The difference Christ, the message of His life and death and the demand of the gospel is like night and day, daylight and darkness, heaven and hell, and the distinction between those who delight in the power, path and principles of God and those who rarely, if ever, seek Him or His ways is very clear.
You're right, the blessed man is not perfectβbut he is different. He's different because He's been made a new creature in Christ. And the wisdom of this world has been shattered in their lives, and now the advice they seek and receives, the path that they walk, the kingdom that they represents, the places they are planted, the fruit flourishing from them and the influence and impact they have has a different root and result than before. Also, because their relationship with the Lord is different, and their delight in God's ways is contrary to how the ungodly views life, the two will live for opposing kingdoms and their final destinations will be in two different places.
