Chapters four and five of Revelation are designed to establish the sovereign greatness of God and to show that God is the only One who is worthy to pour out judgment. Chapter four established the worthiness of God at His throne. Chapter five establishes the worthiness of Jesus Christ at His throne.
Only God is worshipped at the throne of God and since this chapter shows that Jesus Christ is worshipped at the throne of God and that He is authorized to pour out all the judgments of God, this is a great chapter that proves Jesus Christ is God. It also shows that all authority of judgment comes from the Lamb. Up to this point there has been no sign of the Lamb, but now He steps into the spotlight and fills the stage of the universe, drawing every eye and prompting an endless applause.
