The world tells us that we must 'look out for number one' and that true success can only be measured in our social advancement, greater income, honors, titles, and prestige. And yet Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to earth to serve, not to be served. He Who is the King of Kings, and yet willingly became the servant of sinners taught us that to be great in the Kingdom of Heaven we must practice self-denial, die to self, and seek to esteem others more highly than ourselves. The Kingdom of God, simply put, is a Kingdom where service and humility are held in the highest esteem, and the were spiritual growth is seen in how we grow not in titles and honor, but meekness, holiness, and contentment. Great will be the rewards in heaven for such a person!
