God has elected us into a community of believers. There is no such thing as a Christian maverick who rides solo.
This is just as true for gospel proclamation as it is for any other Christian service.
Here the aged apostle can't help but rejoice when he ponders God's sovereign grace in enabling his brothers & sisters to join with him in so worthy a venture.
And what is this venture? Nothing less than the heart-beat of Paul: the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ.
Too many churches are bickering and focusing on the insignificant matters of life: worship style, pews or chairs, programs, etc.
But the main thing is the gospel of God's saving power in Jesus Christ. May we enroll with Paul & the Philippians in so worthy a venture, and find our true fellowship - not in coffee gatherings after church - but in co-laboring to get the gospel out to the ends of the earth.
Let us wake up church and keep the main thing the main thing!
