Heb 9:1: service = worship. The first covenant that God gave to Moses consisted of divine worship and an earthly sanctuary. Directions were given in great detail Vs2: tabernacle = tent, meeting place. This is describing how the first tabernacle was built. It tells where the candlestick goes, the table, the showbread…it gives detailed directions. Vs3: a veil sections off part of the tabernacle in the back, and behind this second veil was the arc of the covenant made of gold. Vs4: this verse tells specifically what is contained in the back area of the tabernacle. Vs5: the tabernacle is a study of its own. In the Old Testament, there is no greater cross and artifacts than what is put in the back area of the tabernacle. The author says he's not going into the details of that now; he's got other things on his mind to tell us. Vs6: Priests go into the front first part of the tabernacle every day and do their duties. Vs7: Priests go into the second rear part of the tabernacle once a year and they must have some blood to sacrifice for the sins of himself and his people. A sin of errors is the sin you committed that you didn't know you committed. You missed the mark. It is a Day of Atonement to cover the unknown committed sins of Israel. Add this to your prayer list: forgive me for sins I committed against you unknowingly. Vs8: the first covenant was in place until Christ came. Christ paid the bill in full for all our sins thus negating the need for the .....
