The last time we were here we discussed the issue of self-esteem. How are we supposed to think about ourselves? We learned from Paul in chapter 3 and the first part of chapter 4 how the Corinthian believers were to think of their spiritual leaders. In vs. 6 and 7, the Apostle Paul began to apply all of these things to the Corinthians themselves. He taught us that, first, we are not to think of ourselves beyond what the Bible says about us: (1) we are personally created by the hand of God (2) we were dead in our trespasses and sin and deserved nothing but condemnation (3) God's grace saved us and made us usable to God. Second, he taught us why we must think this way. It is because we have nothing that we did not receive. If we are to glory we must glory in the Lord.
