Paul says 'I died to the law.' The law had no more power over him. It was no longer his master. There was a time when it was the focus of his existence. It dominated his life from the moment he awoke until sleep brought him blessed relief. He was always conscious of it: What does the law say about this? What does the law say about that? How do the rabbis interpret it? It was a grievous burden---a stern taskmaster, chastening, rebuking and convicting, but never commending. But he died to the law, that he might live to God. He died to the law in the person of his substitute, the Lord Jesus. The demands of the law were laid upon Him at Calvary. How about you? Are you living to the law, or to God? This third message in the Galatians Series has tremendous ramifications for Christians, and it includes a clear gospel call to those who may be still trusting in their own righteousness.
