We are living in the informational age with an explosion of knowledge. Many claim to be experts in one particular small area of knowledge. But no one knows everything-- except for God. Our God knows everything both the actual and the potential. God knows everything immediately from eternity and He knows the end from the beginning and the best way to achieve the end. David, in Psalm 139:1-6, contemplates the knowledge of God. God knows us intimately and personally. He knows what we do and why we do it. He sees what happens in private as well as in public settings. He knows what we are thinking. He knows everything about us. Now, this fact that God knows everything about us will either comfort or convict us. It is comforting to know that in spite of all that God knows about us, He still loves us and desires to have a relationship with Him. Knowing that God knows everything cuts out any pretense with God and results in genuine awe or worship of God. Our God knows everything!
