This is a very dark account of a Levite who was for sale. He would become an idolator, a purveyor of evil, all to the highest bidder. He obviously had no true fear of the Living God before his eyes.
Too many ministers today are also "for sale to the highest bidder". Sacrificing their conscience (if they have one) for a little money or popularity.
It's not a new story -- but one that has been repeated, as long as their have been hirelings -- which is almost as long as their have been priests and ministers.
It should be noted that we do not believe that all ministers are hirelings. But too many were and are.
