A longtime reader named Chris wrote to me the other day, and told me a genuinely heartbreaking story. His niece Madeline was killed last Sunday in a horseback riding accident and the entire family is understandably devastated and heartbroken. I cannot begin to imagine the grief of losing a child. Maddie's mom is overwhelmed with grief, and really wants to know from the bible what has now happened to her daughter. Chris asked me if I had a bible study on what happens when we die, this is that bible study.
"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" Hebrews 9:27 (KJB)
On this episode of Rightly Dividing, we are looking at what the bible says will happen to all lost people when they die, and what happens to all saved people when they die. The bible has a fantastic volume of information on this subject, and because it's the word of God, what it says is a factual, historical accounting of what happens to all of us when we die. I am still a young man, but have lived long enough to see half my birth family die, as well as dozens of close friends and acquaintances. Death is always ugly, and it's supposed to be, but it is what follows after death that is truly noteworthy.
If the Lord tarries, we will all die at some point, no exceptions, and on tonight's program we will open The Book and see what God has to say about it.
