The Scripture warns that the antichrist will in the last days, and he is described as “the lawless one” (2 Th. 2:3, 8-9). Jesus warned concerning the last days in Mt. 24:12, “Because lawlessness will multiply, the love of many will grow cold.” Hatred is the opposite of love. I am seeing a rise in lawlessness in our society, including the highest offices of our land. The President has disregarded and changed immigration law, his own healthcare law, etc. The Supreme Court has demonstrated that they are not bound by the plain text of the law, but are free to make law mean whatever they declare it to mean. Today, State Constitutions have been declared null & void, not by passing Federal law, or by the plain text of the Federal Constitution, but by the interpretation of judges. Folks, if our highest officials are lawless, do you think our citizens are going to respect the rule of law? Our Founding Fathers established a nation with rule not based on who has the most power, but rule based on law. They carefully limited the power of the Federal branches of government, & limited the overall power of the Federal government by putting most of the power in the hands of the states (10th amendment). That form of government, along with the dominance of a Judeo/Christian moral worldview, has severed us well and led to the U.S.A. becoming the world’s most prosperous & powerful nation. Yet I will not despair. As Jesus said in John 18:36, "My kingdom is not of this world.” My joy & peace is in the Lord.
