Why must we speak out against homosexuality

The first reason we ought to speak against the sin of homosexuality is that is a violation of God's law. This is clearly taught in scripture in several places and for our argument today we will use Romans 1:26-27. We see a digression here in Romans 1 that starts in verse 21 with a willful denial of God. We must understand that men do not passively deny God's existence or His authoritative influence on earth but on the contrary we by nature are set against God and therefore we hate His law. It is important for us to understand that God's law is first a reflection of His own character, therefore to willfully disobey God is to defame His character and to proclaim our own character of a higher standard. And secondly God's law is for our greatest good or we could say that the most fulfilling life a person can have is to live in harmony with God's law and in accordance with who He is. My friends, when we as a society take God out of the equation we are left with tyranny and there can be no other option. For if our rights and laws do not come from God then they must come from men and men will always do what advantages himself to the demise of others and this is why we are headed toward a genicidial culture if we are not already there. We live in a culture that loves death and sexual immorality and I believe that is because God's people and those who claim to be God's people have ceased to preach the law and the gospel (I will write about that in my next blog L.W.). However if we examine the digression in Romans1 we see that the sins become more abominable as the list progresses, until God finally gives men over to their own evil hearts and that is when the sin of homosexuality then enters their hearts. This is why it is a sin that is particularly evil because it is a sin that is against nature that God has ordained or it is a sign of God giving a society over to their own perverse desires. The second reason it is so wrong for us not to speak against the sin of homosexuality is that we are failing to love our neighbors if we don't. These churches that are saying that this sin is okay are going to be held responsible for sending these homosexuals to hell. Think about it: the only reason these "churches" are making these shifts in the wrong direction is to save their own reputation. They can careless if these people end up in hell, but the true people of God will call the homosexuals to repentance because they have offended God and also because they are on their way to hell and if they don't repent that is where they will end up forever and it is where you will also end up if you haven't repented.(see next blog for definition of repentance)
