Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them. Hebrews 7:25

This verse is one that is well known among Christians. We rejoice at its implication and marvel at the thought of Christ actively interceding on behalf of Christians like us. But it is rare the time that we stop to think about the importance of intercession. Christ lives to make intercession! What a glorious thought. If our Christ is engaged in continuous and unwavering intercession, than the Christian must conclude that intercessory prayer must become the main work of all Christians. We must, like Him, intercede for those that are in desperate need.

How is your intercessory life? Do you, like the friends of the paralytic, bring those that are unable or unwilling to come to Christ in intercessory prayer? Do you, like them, show an audaciousness in intercession by not wavering in your commitment to bring those whom you love to Christ? Would you dig through a roof and lower your loved ones to Christ? Intercession is an unwavering belief that God is able to forgive sins and that it is our duty, as Christians, to intercede on behalf of those that are paralyzed.

Would you, like Moses, stand between the wrath of God and the people? Would you, like Aaron, stand before the wrath of God with the censer of intercession in your hands? This is what Christ lives for now! He lives to forever intercede. Let us, like our master, intercede at the Throne of Grace.
