CALL TO WORSHIP

To Thy presence we repair.

Lord, we love to worship there.

When within the veil we meet,

Christ the Lord, our mercy seat.

Thou, through Him, art reconciled.

We, through Him, become Thy child.

Abba, Father! Give us grace,

In Thy courts to seek Thy face.

While Thy glorious praise is sung,

Touch our lips, unloose our tongues,

That our joyful souls may bless,

Christ the Lord, our righteousness.

While we listen to Thy Word,

Fill our souls with sovereign love.

From Thy house when we return,

May our hearts within us burn.

And at evening let us say,

“We have walked with God today.”

(Tune: “Rock of Ages” p. 126 )

We are thankful to have three gifted and faithful pastors here to preach the gospel of Christ to us this weekend. May the Lord be pleased to bless them in preaching and us in hearing.

Friday: Todd Nibert and Bruce Crabtree

Saturday: Marvin Stalnaker and Todd Nibert

Sunday: Bruce Crabtree and Marvin Stalnaker.

We will have a time of fellowship Saturday evening in Simpson Valley at 5:00 pm – rain or shine.

Preaching that is most blessed to my heart is that which is declared from a man truly taught of God…one who proclaims only the glory of Christ, but sees himself as one who desperately needs to be taught…a man who prayerfully considers the Divine truth of God’s word and plainly proclaims it in such a way that the Lord Jesus receives all the honor, glory and praise and therein, needy sinners can hear and feast upon the Bread of Heaven Himself.

Pastor Marvin Stalnaker

We must never forget that the sovereignty of God’s grace does not prevent anyone from being saved. God’s electing grace and Christ’s redeeming work on their behalf and the life giving work of the Holy Spirit in them does not shut anybody out of the Kingdom of Heaven. The natural man hates God and does not want to be saved on God’s terms. He will continue to willfully reject the Gospel if left to himself. The Gospel does not prevent people like that from being saved. It saves people like that and prevents them from being condemned.

Pastor Todd Nibert

THREE THINGS I’VE LEARNED

There are three things I have learned, yet I find myself needing to be reminded of:

1. When I make the glory of God my foremost concern, it doesn't seem to matter if I have little or much of this world. I am content (I Tim. 6:6).

2. When I make the worship of Christ my ultimate attraction, I begin to feel a disconnection from this world and its beauties. I have found with Miss Lemmel that, "The things of earth grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace" (Col. 3:1-3; Psalm 27:4)!

3. I have found for myself when I make the service of His kingdom my chief duty, I just don't have enough time left to dilly-dally around in the affairs of this life (II Tim. 2:4).

Pastor Bruce Crabtree

THE END IS GREATER THAN THE MEANS

The ultimate end or goal of redemption is not the happiness, well-being, or even conversion of sinners, BUT THE GLORY OF GOD (Eph. 1:6, 12, 14). Man’s comfort and safety is not the supreme goal of God’s glorious Gospel. The supreme goal of our Gospel is the glory of God, the establishment of His rule and reign over a Kingdom of peace and righteousness, the exaltation and manifestation of His character, and the preeminence of His beloved Son. Our salvation will serve that purpose (Phil 2:6-11). Everything in covenant mercies, in salvation, and in God’s purpose for the sons of men (past, present, and future) turns upon the will of God in Christ. This makes CHRIST THE PRINCIPAL FIGURE in our Gospel, our goals, and our glory. But, if you have salvation and God’s purpose waiting upon the freewill of the creature, then MAN is the principal figure in your landscape and will lead you to compromise divine Truth in order to win man’s approval. The attitude that we must get men converted at any cost and compromise usually winds up costing the very character and Truth of God, which is a price too high to pay. Conversions are never more important than Truth. Truth is always more important than results. “Let God be true and every man a liar!”
