“Now therefore, do not be mockers,

Lest your bonds be made strong;

For I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts,

A destruction determinedleven upon the whole earth."

There is a destruction determined upon the earth, and we must get ready. Prepare to meet your God. A wise man sees the evil and hides himself. He runs to safety in Jesus Christ from Jesus Christ, because He returns! "In blazing fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus [2 Thess 1:8]." God has wrath and judgment. He is holy and must punish sins. The wise man is not fearless, but he fears God in wisdom. He takes the truth and acts upon it. He is unwilling to block God from his mind. He will not be deceived.

Hear the word of the Lord and receive it. Give it your attention, and He will save you. He talks about mercies, and He gives us deliverance, even power over sin. He says, “When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the Lord your God is with you, who brought you up from the land of Egypt [Deut 20:1].” He is patient and helpful. He forgives blatant rebellion! He’s a good God who gives us eternal life. He took the wrath already.

Do not fear that life will end if you trust Christ. Serving Him is better than serving ourselves. He gives peace and undefeatable safety. He gives heaven’s bliss.

Let us be wise! Destruction is coming, and we must prepare.
