I have long since come to the conclusion that there was a drastic miscalculation in the days of the “Moral Majority”. I think what we are witnessing today in poll after poll that continues to encourage an arrogant immoral president with a fuehrer mentality, bears me out. Of necessity there must be an overwhelming “IMMORAL MAJORITY” in this nation for him to receive a rate of approval. I am just as bewildered as the conservative media when it states “Give him and his party their due as shrewd politicians and grant them authority as masters of charisma.” But how under haven – other than the fact that for some reason not yet revealed to man, it is ordained by a Sovereign God – could so many people, a majority according to polls, still give him a vote of confidence? I heartily conclude that the reason for such a sad state of affairs in our land is only known to a Sovereign God who has ordained it thus to be. Personally I am still in the dark as to why God ordained the North to win the War Between the States: but there is an infinite wisdom, ever how obscure it might be to man, in all that God does. “He works all things after the counsel of His own will” (Ephesians 1:11). That counsel is devised out of pure, undefiled, infinite wisdom. My theory (for what it’s worth) concerning God’s allowing victory to go to the other side in the “War of Northern Aggression” was for the purpose of establishing centralized government. Hence to allow the rise of humanism – hence to eventually be headed up by the “man of sin” (antichrist), hence to receive for Himself the greater glory in its ultimate destruction. I have said all of that to say this; the pulse of the people is revealed by the polls in their willingness to tolerate, yea rather to applaud what is clearly abominable to God. What is manifested to us is that the nation is no longer Christian, but anti-Christ, anti-God, and anti-Bible. The churches of America have long, long “departed from the faith which was once delivered to the saints” (Jude 1:3). The polls are not taken from the dives and strip joints, nor among gutter and street people, they are taken from the homes of many whose names are on the church rolls. As I have written in times past I say again, our problem did not start at the White House, it started in the Church House. The departure from ”sound doctrine” – namely, the Biblical doctrine of the Sovereign God, who is sovereign in salvation as well as creation and providence, who controls every minute detail of matter down to the smallest atom. History ever has been and ever will be His-Story. Providence is His, predestination is His, the past, the present, and the future are His, and it is all “working together for good to them that love Him, to them who are the called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).
