The last post, Pathway to American Impoverishment, discussed the fallacies of Truman Doctrine and its associated Marshall Plan; together they were America's international Manifest Destiny programs. They burgeoned into modern foreign aid programs which sought to extend American hegemony but resulted in maintaining dictators and poverty around the world. Truman sought to ensconce Democratic dominance at home and American hegemony abroad via crony capitalism but actually became the sole author of the Cold War. How did this happen? What was it hiding?

Goebbels understood modern propaganda and in a 1934 speech said, "The effective propagandist must be a master of the art of speech, of writing, or journalism, of the poster and of the leaflet. He must have the gift to use the major methods of influencing public opinion such as the press, film and radio to serve his ideas and goals...It may be good to have power based on weapons. It is better and longer lasting, however, to wind and hold the heart of a nation." Americans have been taught that propaganda is an evil method and did not believe their government used it on them. This naive view allowed their government to constantly deceive them and garner their support in the pursuit of its single-minded goal of complete power. The Truman Doctrine was effective because it deemed Stalin's control of Eastern Europe as the first step in world domination. In fact, it was a buffer against European aggression; better to fight on someone else's soil than on one's own: a lesson from World War II (WWII).

America had already claimed the Americas as its personal hegemonic sphere in the Monroe Doctrine. This was a bold declaration for a fledgling nation that had barely one its own independence. Yet, it demonstrated America's plan to extend its power beyond its own borders. However, first it had to determine its borders. America devised the doctrine of Manifest Destiny to justify its internal expansion at the expense of indigenous peoples and Hispanic settlers. Manifest Destiny gave God's blessing to America's conquering of others to enlarge its borders from "sea to shining sea." The song, America the Beautiful, was simply a propagandist melody to capture the hearts of Americans, young and old. Manifest Destiny was also used to justify America's international expansionism during the Spanish American War. But, how did Republican Progressivism tie into Democratic power expansionism?

Lincoln, and the Republican Party, expanded federal (central) government power through war against its own citizens. Two strokes of master propaganda fixed the righteousness of this war in the minds of Americans though both were insignificant at the time. The Emancipation Proclamation which claimed that the war was to free the slaves did not free a single slave and was denounced throughout Europe as simply a propagandic device to justify its continued aggression. The Gettysburg Address rewrote history to make the federal government an instrument of the people since 1776 rather than a voluntary creation of the existing states for certain limited purposes; which it was now violating. By winning this war Lincoln justified the growth of central power over the subordinate states. As the federal government increased its control , it began a period known as the Progressive Era, a propagandic label for implementing national socialism. The Pledge of Allegiance was a propagandic tool to indoctrinate children and adults in supporting national socialism.

President Wilson was prodded to enter World War I (WWI) to both advance national socialism at home and to implement socialism abroad in the form of a League of Nations. While it was sold as an organization of sovereign nations to prevent future wars through dialogue, it was seen as an extension of European hegemony over other nations. Wilson basically took Lincoln's example and expanded it on an international scale. The League did not fail because America refused to join; it failed because the nations were still locked into national socialism and not ready for international socialism. This would take the implementation of Antonio Gramsci's philosophy to prepare the world, country by country. After WWI many of Wilson's programs were rolled back by Republicans who saw them as robbing them of power. They also refused to join the League which they perceived would also rob them of power which they had enjoyed since Lincoln's War. But, the seeds had been planted and future events would bring them to fruition.

The rise of Hitler's reign in Germany and the subsequent war, WWII, was seen as a failure of the League. The lesson learned was that a new and stronger organization was needed to prevent future wars since the advent of nuclear weapons. That was the propaganda sold to Americans. FDR, and later Truman, saw the United Nations (U.N.) as a means of legitimizing American hegemony by cloaking it in the righteousness of an international body America controlled. Truman used the U.N. cloak to justify American intervention in Korea to hold back the spread of communism. Thus, almost immediately the U.N. and the Truman Doctrine meant regional wars of attrition. But, what was the U.N. true mission?

Was Designed as a Global Government

While America sought to use the organization for its purposes, the organization was designed to use America for its purpose: international socialism or globalization. H. G. Wells assisted in writing the Declaration of the Rights of Man. This celebrated author was a member of the Fabian Society whose goal, along with others, was the disestablishment of nationalism and the implementation of an atheistic international government. Just as America's post Lincoln's War had to gain strength before flexing its muscles in the Revolution of 1913, so also the U.N. had to learn how to diminish Western power to accomplish its goal and the integration of Gramsci's Social Marxism perfectly mirrored and established the truth of Goebbels view of propaganda. Once America joined the U.N. there became an internal policy to destroy her just as she would destroy the perceived center of Communism: economically.

Non-Government Organization (NGO)

What began as a means to raise one domestic political party over another has turned into a means of destroying national sovereignty. The unrestrained use of fiat monies distributed via NGOs answerable to no one internationally has become the model for domestic spending also. Both Republican and Democratic parties revel in this so-called power of the purse without apparent restraint and in spite of continued warnings that this is the road to serfdom. In fact, both parties are responsible for the destruction of America economically for their own gains. Republican party to retain national socialism and Democratic party to implement international socialism. Their are a plethora of hidden NGOs at work funneling finances to advance and accelerate this trend; Open Society Foundation is one such NGO to counter America's USAID NGO.
