Hungary passes constitutional amendment defining marriage as between man and woman
The eastern European nation of Hungary has passed a constitutional amendment that will preserve the definition of marriage as a union between one man and one woman.
The Ninth Amendment to the Fundamental Law of Hungary, the country’s equivalent of a constitution, was passed in Parliament last week by a margin of 134-45. The amendment, which was backed by Prime Minister Viktor Orban, will amend Section L paragraph (1) of the Fundamental Law to read: “Hungary protects the institution of marriage as the association between a man and a woman and the family as the basis for the survival of a nation. The foundation of the family is marriage and the parent-child relationship. The mother is a woman, the father is a man.”
“The main rule is that only married couples can adopt a child, that is, a man and woman who are married,” said Justice Minister Judit Varga, Reuters reported....
It is too bad, Jim, that any nation had to take that step. Certainly the EU will have pressure to conform to more contemporary but unbiblical norms.
Every nation has the authority to eatablish, via penal and criminal code as well as civil, the morals of its nation. Those morals will be based on something. Either they are based on the word of God or on man's ideas of right & wrong. The Hungarians chose to go with the older and truer definition rather than the more contemporary and corrupt version. May the Lord bless that nation.
I also ask that the Lord bless ours as well, but with a recovery of righteousness that comes thru faith in Christ.
Well, too bad they have to pass an amendment to their constitution to restate the obvious.
Nebraska did the same, and I supported that at the polls. A lot of good that did!
But, it has to be realized---
John 18:36-37 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world. Then Pilate said to him, So you are a king? Jesus answered, You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice. ---ESV

Glory be to God and good for them. Pray that the withstand the onslaught of pressure that the U.N. and the U.S led Biden will bring against them. And pray that we have members in our state and federal legislatures that would put their actions where their mouth is.
