That “TheBlaze would use female pronouns to describe this man is disgraceful,” Belsky then writes. “‘Zinnia Jones’ was not just ‘born male.’ He still is male and always will be,” he explains.
“He cannot be anything else,” Belsky continues. “To call a man ‘she’ and ‘her’ is to be complicit in transgender insanity. It’s twice as damaging when conservatives, who purport to hold the moral high ground, join liberal sexual deviants in pushing the linguistic envelope.”
Preach it, brother (except that there’s no such thing as “transgender,” either). I’ve been writing for almost 20 years now about how too many conservatives are “connedservatives” who, while fighting the culture destroyers, cede half the battle before it has even begun by embracing their Newspeak....
One expression that biblical Christians should avoid at all costs is “sex or gender assigned at birth”. Sex is not assigned at birth at all, but given by the Lord at conception. The baby is not male or female from birth but at conception, and has the XY chromosome (male) or XX chromosome (female) from the moment he or she is conceived. This careless term”assigned at birth” is not only bad for Christians to use with regards to the “trans” agenda, but also with regards to the abortion question, as a baby in the womb already has its sex.
Excellent points, Brothers. Language and particularly the definition of words is critical. When "pro-choice" or "love is love" get tossed around, it is important to define the words being used and even establish the authority of those establishing a definition.
Sex isn't something "assigned at birth" but determined at conception as a key piece of DNA. As each person is a unique creation by the Lord, our physical attributes, even if non-typical, are part of His design. We are not our own creators or the masters of our own destinies. All that was created by the Lord. We don't get to define "love" (e.g. eros) or "life" because we didn't create either.
This is a battle at the level of the underlying assumptions. And those have to be uncovered and gently challenged.
Frank wrote: Yes, we all compromise in this area; perhaps not intentionally. I sometimes use the expression “gay” instead of homosexual. I then catch myself and find myself correcting myself. And whenever a news article describes someone as a male, I also find myself saying male even though they were born female. But once again if I realize what I have done, I correct myself. I’m not sure why that happens to me, but it is almost reflexive. But anyone who intentionally does this, is guilty of sinning.
Good points, Frank. It is easy to fall into line, so to speak. The enemy and his helpers are good at stealing language for their own purposes. Look at how the pro-death crowd has succeeded in renaming murder as choice. Who can be against choice? Yet so many Christians use the same words chosen by liars and deceivers, and don’t see how they have been manipulated into doing so.
