10 Years in Jail for Attempting to Convert People
Legislation introduced in the Victorian Government today could see Christians hit with heavy fines and lengthy jail times for attempting to convert LGBTQ people to Christianity or teaching certain portions of the Bible.

The Change or Suppression (Conversion) Practices Prohibition Bill 2020 will empower the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission to investigate reports of “conversion therapy” practices which may include activities as simple as prayer.

In a report released with the legislation, the government quoted an anonymous “survivor” who said he had suffered mentally, physically, and spiritually after attending a prayer session with a small group of Christians associated with a church in New South Wales. ...

Apt quote, MS. Reminds me of another, regarding things the Lord hates: Proverbs 6:19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

John, the only thing you are going to prove is the same thing you have already proven, and that is that you are hateful, spiteful, and childish. So fire away, little man. You may not know it, but you’re hurting yourself a lot more than you are me.

IF you are unsure of your faith, read your bible. Some here claim to be the source of knowledge, yet they are "clouds without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;- Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever."
It is unwise to listen to those kind, they are blind guides....

So all IFB’s hate God?????? This is shameful talk from someone that names the name of Christ. I hope you aren’t a stumbling block to someone weak in the faith.

You have defended, exalted, and sang the praises of Arminian Billy Graham, claiming many were 'saved' under his 'gospel preaching'. Doesn't matter to you he preached a false gospel. Graham's 'gospel' is based on the sinner's 'decision'. How does that fit into your 'tulip'? Then you exalted Madame Guyon, an RCC mystic, as well as Watchman Nee, another mystic. Now you have the audacity to scold someone you claim is defending something 'false'. It's hard to see one's own hypocrisy when they are blindsided by pride. Pointing judgmental, self righteous fingers at others when they are guilty of the SAME THING! Well 'pilgrim', here's the truth, "Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men' Isa. 29

Now we have a New Sensation,
A Calvin taught Arminian Nation.
These that do some Truth profess,
But in heart deny God’s blest – in Christ Alone our Righteousness.

Amen sister, I pray others will listen. The one thing the true believer understands is this, we have NOT arrived. We are always growing in grace and knowledge of HIM. This is life long, no need to be puffed up. No need to belittle, for by grace I am what I am. Until that is grasped by His revealing it to sinners, the religious will continue to exalt 'self' over others. The way is narrow, may God show His sheep this narrow way👍✝️❤️

"the only way God can accept anything that comes thru this ole sinner is that it's washed clean in the blood of the Lamb" - Bill Parker, from his sermon I linked to, ' what are good works?'

Tim, have you checked your local library?
Also second hand bookstores might have it.

I went online and found the book, MS, but it’s a little out of my price range right now, especially being this close to the evil, no-warrant-in-scripture (I’m still trying to find the scriptural warrant for endless debate, bickering and backbiting) upcoming holiday. I would really like to read it before the communist infiltrators here in America decide it must be burned, or our know-it-all friends in other countries try to deny its worth based on the vast knowledge they have gleaned from their deep research on Google and Wikipedia.

Tim, in your circles, have you ever read the book by James R. Beller, ‘America in Crimson Red’ the Baptist History of America?
We had the pleasure of hosting him and his dear wife years ago and he graciously gave us quite a few of his books. Good reads.

I can’t speak for all IFB believers—no one can—but I would say that most believe that the gospel is defined in I Corinthians 15:1-4, and that salvation is by grace, through faith, and not of works, in accordance with Ephesians 2:8-9. I believe, and I think most IFB preachers would agree, that good works are the usual natural outgrowth of the implantation of grace—Ephesians 2:10. However, I do not believe that all born-again people necessarily engage constantly, or even consistently, in good works. Abraham, Jacob, David, Solomon, Peter and Paul all fell into sin at one time or another, so if lesser men than they stumble and fall that doesn’t indicate that they were never saved.
While many IFB preachers (not to mention hordes of others) say that one must “turn from sin” or “repent of all his sins” in order to be saved, I find it extremely difficult to pin them down on exactly what they mean. Obviously if it means that people must stop sinning, then no one is saved—Ecclesiastes 7:20, I Timothy 1:8, 10.
What do I preach? “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” Anyone who fully trusts Christ alone for salvation receives Him (John 1:12), and all who receive Him have Him and therefore have eternal life (I John 5:12).

Sister MS, I attended an IFB a few years back, the preacher spent three sunday's on the necessity of tithing, I didn't go back.
From what I have read, it does seem legalism is rife within that denomination. I found no teaching on election or imputed righteousness.
I also disagree with taking the bible literal every time, especially concerning revelation and Daniel.
Here is an excellent sermon by Bill Parker entitled 'come out my people'-
