Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's order closing public school buildings also bans homeschooling, which is unconstitutional, contends a legal non-profit in the state.
"The Great Lakes Justice Center calls upon Gov. Whitmer to correct this unconstitutional action and assure parents in Michigan that they may continue to safely home school their own children while the EO is in effect," the organization said in a statement Thursday.
The April 2 order states "in-person instruction for pupils in kindergarten through grade 12 … is suspended for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year."...

Many ignored the demand. Demonstrators, on foot, were seen waving American, "Don't Tread on Me" and Trump campaign flags. At least two Confederate flags were spotted....
This is what happens when women gain political power. Especially liberal/feminist women. We are the weaker sex as God made us and should not be involved or take part in ruling the world. God gave the man that responsibility.
Mediabiasfactcheck has flattered WND‚Ěó it looks like they have done a new improved review of WND
Mediabiasfactcheck wrote: ... Analysis / Bias Based on reviews by all of our researchers, WND is a Questionable online news source that has a far right bias and dabbles in right wing conspiracies such as President Obama’s birth certificate. So, WND should be flattered by the extra work that Mediabias/Factcheck has gone into looking them over.
Egalitarianism ‚Äď or equalitarianism ‚Äď is a school of thought that prioritizes equality for all people. Egalitarian doctrines maintain that all humans are equal in fundamental worth or social status. Egalitarianism is a trend of thought in political philosophy.
Complementarianism is a theological view held by some in Christianity, Judaism, and Islam, that men and women have different but complementary roles and responsibilities in marriage, family life, religious leadership, and elsewhere. The word "complementary" and its cognates are currently used to denote this view.
What most conservative Christians do is apply the above complementarian definition to the church and family, but not to societal roles. I disagree with this train of thought.
Jim might be right on this one. If there was an issue, HSLDA would be all over it. Didn't see a mention on that organization's webpage covering Michigan: https://hslda.org/content/hs/state/MI/?
In relative terms, Michigan has low homeschool regulation which started long before this woman came into office. State law, not regulations, governs how the state addresses homeschooling.
However, there is reason to be concerned. Her response to the last State of the Union was given from her daughter's public school. While trying to uphold a version government that works for its citizens, she pointed out a minor child who filled in the potholes on his street himself within her state. She closed with a statement that children should be permitted to "love who they love," a statement of support for LGBT lifestyles.
WND is spouting about the worst nonsense that it has in the long history of spouting nonsense. She has been criticized for being too liberal and easy on homeschooling in fact ‚Ěó I don't see where she's changed any of this at all?

By the way, the governor's executive order on the covid-19

"....If before March 11, 2020, a district was providing a nonessential elective course to a nonpublic school pupil or homeschool pupil in grade 12 at either a district, intermediate district, or nonpublic school site pursuant to section 166b of the School Aid Act, MCL 388.1766b, and that course is required for the pupil to graduate and receive a diploma, the district must, to the extent feasible, continue to offer the nonessential elective course to the pupil through alternative modes of instruction for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year...."
Remember, she gave the Democratic response to the President's State of the Union Address. An up and coming liberal. Of course she see's the danger of home schooling undermining the liberal agenda of brainwashing America's children into her socialist ideology. She needs to be challenged in court immediately and she is guaranteed to lose.
She seems to be a cold-hearted woman--like how most feminists are. This is not right. With all that's going on now, power hungry feminists are making the wrong decisions for the people whom they represent. This is not right. are dangerous
