Michigan governor exempts worship services from state ban on gatherings of 50 or more
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer stated that worship services are exempted from her recent executive order prohibiting gatherings of 50 or more people due to coronavirus concerns.

In an interview with “Fox News Sunday” anchor John Roberts, Whitmer explained that while she greatly discourages such gatherings in light of the pandemic, she believed the government did not have the right to order churches to close.

“Well, you know, the separation of church and state and the Republican legislature asked me to clarify that,” explained Whitmer, a Democrat. ...

According to the Elders of the SA forum, to be saved: you have to get your politics Right, never miss a holy day of obligation, I mean Lord's day service, espouse an IFB cultural pietism, and most importantly not be the first one to leave provocative and overbearing opinions for newly posted articles while having the gall to undergird your opinions by quoting Bible versions that don't speak the King's English while cherry picking out of context points from Johnny Mac sermons!

Jim I think you might be in trouble.

It will be interesting to see how police can enforce some provisions. Here the required distance kept from others is 6 feet. Enforcement of that provision would require breaking it. Maybe police are immune, though I haven't heard it.

Thank you, Citizen, for proclaiming the way of salvation to Jim. Many of us have & many of us pray for his salvation regularly.

Amen to your encouragement to pray. As the situation grows grim here in the US as it already has in Europe, may each of us with our families cling to the Lord. May He be our refuge and strong tower. May this prestilence pass over our houses and our bodies. But if not, let us trust Him anyway.

Lord encourage & strengthen your people to press into You. As Your people will be guided with Godly wisdom through Godly discernment. O’ Lord use your people to proclaim your truths that we need to be reconciled too You. That no other can cleanse one from their own transgressions amen.

Truly my soul silently waits for God; From Him comes my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved. My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him.

Timothy, I really haven't checked out the various ages, but I don't think Pelosi is as old as Trump?

A half a trillion dollars slush fund
for Trump isn't going to work but the Democrats are pushing for some stuff that should wait for later.

Andrew Desiderio wrote:
Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.), known for his folksy demeanor and dry humor, later poked fun at the seeming absurdity of what had transpired on the Senate floor.

“You know what the American people are thinking right now? They're thinking that the brain is an amazing organ. It starts working in a mother's womb, and it doesn’t stop working until you get elected to Congress,” he said, later adding: “This country was founded by geniuses, but it's being run by a bunch of idiots.”

excerpt from, "...Bitterness takes over Senate as lawmakers clash on rescue."

Dixiecans usually have entertaining behavior, but a germy Rand Paul, not so much. An even-handed article about it, (Lawmakers Confront Coronavirus, Quarantines, Prospect Of Remote Voting)

Now, this article pointed out that Rand Paul had an excuse for his contact with fellow senators. He did point out that he was asymptomatic even when he took the test for coronavirus. Anyway couple of his fellow senators put themselves in to self-quarantine. This governor makes the same point in the article about carrying the disease around unawares from the SA article,

'The governor warned those considering attending church at this time that “you yourself can be carrying it and you might not even know it.”'

SA, picked a good article.

If you want to see an old ignorant geezer, Jim, you need look no further than the Speaker of the House. She’s 175 years old and doesn’t know her right hand from her left foot. All she knows is that the Republicans must be destroyed, even if the country is destroyed with them—which of course it will be.

As I stated elsewhere on SA News Comments, on Sunday morning my own church was closed without livestream, so I tuned in to a larger Reformed Baptist church in south London (Spurgeon’s old Metropolitan Tabernacle) where the pastor did the service on his own in an empty church, with just broadcast staff, and in another room, Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese translators present for later recordings in those languages. The service was live, but recorded hymns with congregation and organ were played from previous services. It sounded like a real service!!

In the evening I tuned into an IFB church in South London , using business conferencing app. There were a few people in the church, there was a live pianist, the pastor took the service, and a deacon (really an elder in my view), preached.

I am not sure either will be possible from next Sunday, as PM Johnson has now banned all gatherings of more than 2 people, no baptisms, weddings or other services are now permitted, (except funerals with immediate family only), all non-food shops are closed, only food shops and pharmacies are permitted. I assume delivery services are still permitted. People can only go out of their houses for essential work, for going to these shops, and exercise once a day. Police now have powers to enforce

In the UK we may not have a meeting of two or more for any reason. All church services have been shut down. There are no weddings or baptisms, but funerals are exempt. We must stay at home except for going out for basic needs such as food and drink or medical supplies or necessary work or one piece of exercise per day.

It is astonishing.

The guv asked nicely at first, now they are enforcing it because they were ignored by many.

It is his day, and I will rejoice in it!

Dear Jim Lincoln from Ne.

I’m not playing dem vs rep, but something far more important...Your soul!

I’ve observed your interactions for awhile & have come to a conclusion. Your need of Christ Jesus salvation (like the rest of us)

What matters the most is your eternal destination.

I love you enough to tell you the truth;
Only one of two destinations await people after they die... and 10 out of 10 do die!

One, a place that has an absence of God & his attributes that they desired all there earthly life... Hell.

The other place for those who desired & pursued a relationship with Jesus Christ & God... Heaven.

Which will it be?

You matter to me & I’ll be praying for you 🙏

Yours truly,

P.s. To all who call themselves Christians, please join me in this endeavor.

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Is this Democratic governor being little to sly? Now yesterday I put up a URL for an article about, (White supremacists encouraging their members to spread coronavirus to cops, Jews, FBI says) which is really started being given some circulation❗

But she is doing two things, she is no doubt encouraging ignorant Republicans to catch the virus, and even if ignorant old geezers of the GOP stripe are killed off by it, they could pass it on to their more learned children and grandchildren, who would be something other than Republicans and may even had voted for her or would vote for her?
