Canada is almost comprehensively Liberalist nowadays. Liberalism has no respect for individual life.
The curious thing about Liberalism is that it denies collective authority such as laws, rules, morals and traditions. Therefore it seeks to oppose religion and acknowledgment of God - AS God.
God in their image is not superior to the mortal thus providing the mortal with greater scope in his (sinless) self and decisions and choices.
Thus do we find Liberalist churches such as Anglican/Episcopalian and others, rewrite the Bible to accommodate mans new found freedoms and powers.
Euthanasia which of course is state run murder - becomes just as acceptable as abortion the state run murder of the unborn child.
"Thou shalt not kill" is then re-qualified by Liberalism's promotion of man/state to rights above that of sinner. Because man is no longer in that category under the modern ideology of "Potter and clay" - now "Clay equals potter."
