Rick Perry on Cabinet Bible Study and President Trump's Leadership
Did you know members of President Donald Trump's Cabinet meet weekly for a Bible study? CBN News was the first to report on it and according to one regular attendee, Secretary of Energy Rick Perry, the group is still going strong.
"There are a number of men and women on the Cabinet who have a Bible study every Wednesday morning," Perry told CBN's Jenna Browder. "Number one, it gives us an opportunity to see each other outside of our normal work environment, but it's also sending a message that this administration bases its life experiences on that, biblical values."
In addition to Perry, other attendees include Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue, Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos, and Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson. Attorney General Jeff Sessions is also part of the group. Vice President Mike Pence is a sponsor and Capitol Ministries'...
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12) So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. (Isaiah 55:11) Is not my word like as a fire? saith the Lord; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? (Jeremiah 23:29) Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge, (Proverbs 22:20) Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. (John 15:3) Would to God that officials at every level of government would study God's word and cry out to Him for His grace and guidance!
Their No neutrality with Christ, either one is in a saving relationship with Him; Jhn 1:12-13, or one isn’t; Mat 7:21-23!
1 Cor 12:3 Therefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed, & that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, except by the Holy Ghost.
Ones only hope of experiencing the Stoney Heart exchanged is Christ showing life altering mercies towards one! As no one is deserving of experiencing His mercies, that has to change & transform ones life. As I owe it all to Christ Alone, as I am dependent on Thee Alone amen!
Amen, Tim. It also says a standard. If these men and women can spend part of their weeks, which are incredibly busy, in a Bible study, perhaps the rest of us could do the same. Some would do so to follow suit. Some may do so out of spite or jealousy. But the truths of God's word is planted either way.
The article was not about President Trump, but about his cabinet members having a regular Bible study. If the Bible colors their thinking, and they in turn are able to influence the president, this can only be good for America. But even if their Bible reading only affects their own behavior, that should still be cause for rejoicing.
Frank wrote: Well if this administration is basing its values on biblical values, then we should hear the following: 1. Abortion is murder and those who participate in this should be prosecuted. 2. Homosexuality in any of its forms is an abomination in the eyes of God and those who practice it will experience His wrath. 3. Greed is synonymous with idolatry. 4. The feminist movement is evil. 5. Men and women should wait until marriage to have sex. 6. Christianity is not inclusive, but exclusive. So, if someone dies outside of Christ, they are lost. The above are so basic that any genuine Christian would have to profess them. So, why don’t we hear those in Washington profess the above?
Many attend church regularly and are not changed. It's just a show and means nothing.
He needs to respect the Law and keep his mouth shut.
He also demeans people. Is he learning this in bible study?
