Al Mohler: Revoice Is 'Halfway House' Between LGBT Culture and Evangelical Christianity
A prominent Southern Baptist leader is criticizing the recent Revoice conference, saying it is awash in confusing language and does not represent faithful Christianity despite its assertions of adherence to biblical sexual ethics.

"Revoice represents an attempt to build a halfway house between LGBTQ+ culture and evangelical Christianity," said Al Mohler, president of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Nate Collins, who founded Revoice and is a graduate and former employee of SBTS, is linked to groups like LoveBOLDLY, which does not affirm the historic Christian view of sexuality. At an upcoming LoveBOLDLY conference where he is slated to speak in Cincinnati in October, many perspectives are represented, including that of a woman in an openly lesbian relationship. ...

Well said Pilgrim! I have never really pondered whether or not he was a Christian, but simply that he did something heretical by signing that document. I read many exchanges he had with other Christians and he refused to recant his signature. IMO, if someone draws others away from the faith publicly, then they have to publicly repent or I simply separate from them in whatever way is available to me.
As an aside, I did contact Mohler regarding the homosexual gene, but not the Manhattan Declaration. He did have tons of exchanges that were public and I did read many of them.
I hope you are doing well!
I have been reading Pilgrim's Progress just about every day. Believe it or not it is the first real book I have read using a tablet. That sort of thing doesn't come easy for us old-timers! It is very interesting and thanks again for recommending it.
Amen bro, yes all is well here within the confines of increasing age and deterioration, although the inner man is renewed day by day, and seems to long for that which is way beyond the blue. But the Lord is keeping me busy, and I would not have it any other way. Glad you are enjoying Bunyan, and on a tablet too!

Thanks for that info, Frank. Any professing Christian who signs such a thing as the Manhattan Declaration leaves himself open to doubt as to whether or not he understands what a Christian actually is. For me, I don't think he does, based upon that one thing.

Well I think Mohler should ask himself how much he is personally to blame for this slide into apostasy. In the below link he made comments regarding a “possible” homosexual gene that confused many and to the best of my knowledge he didn’t retract anything.
http://www.christiannewswire.com/news/609722522.html
He also signed the Manhattan Declaration that clearly asserted that catholicism and the Greek Orthodox Church were both Christian organizations. He was publicly asked to renounce his signature, but refused.
Now he can spin away the homosexual gene controversy, but it is impossible to spin away his signing of the Manhattan Declaration. I don’t know if Mohler is a true Christian or not, but I refuse to read or listen to anything done by him.
Therefore of course, I didn't read this article.

Thanks Frank for that closed minded post. Always nice to at least see someone who is honest?
You may not agree with everything that Albert Mohlar says or does, but you could nicely and kindly email him asking why he did what he did. I think, if done in a loving and humble way, he would probably tell you why he did it. He’s a doctor; he’s not stupid; but he is a sinner. If he needs to repent, the best thing that we can do is to pray for God to let him see that.
How do you know I didn't contact him with my concerns? And how do you know that I didn't pray for him?

Each of us draw lines and my lines would not be the same as yours or others. But, that does not make them closed minded!

I simply think that he is part of the problem he is arguing against and I stated my reasoning.

Affections/Desires (Perverted)

Romans 1:24-27 - Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error."

Ephesians 2:3 - we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.
Proverbs 21:10 - The soul of the wicked desires evil
John 3:19 - And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.
John 8:44 - “You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires.”

It is heartening to see someone standing up publically and saying "no."

At what point is the presbytery charged with the oversight of this church's session going to step in? This has been like watching a car wreck in slow motion. General Assembly better have something to say.
