'Google-it' mentality leaves school leavers unprepared for university, survey finds
A "Google-it" mentality is leaving sixth-formers unprepared for higher education, a survey of university admissions officers has found.

Around half (49 per cent) of admissions officers said they do not believe that students arrive at university "sufficiently prepared‚ÄĚ for higher education, according to a study conducted by ACS International Schools.

A series of interviews with officers at 81 different universities revealed that just 37 per cent felt school leavers are prepared for university, and the remainder were not sure or did not respond. ...

""do not believe that students arrive at university "sufficiently prepared‚ÄĚ for higher education, according to a study conducted by ACS International Schools.""

ALL authority comes from God.
Institutions :-
Government.
Health.
Law and order.
Morals.
Marriage.

And of course 'education'

But western nations are rejecting the authority of Church.

So God is removing His authorities of decent and civilized society.

2Peter 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, BY THE SAME WORD are kept in store, RESERVED UNTO FIRE against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men."

Its going to get hotter.

I wouldn't claim libraries are necessarily any better, for they are usually run by folks with an agenda not any more congruent with Christianity. Plus, they tend to retire unpopular works, even if they are actually worthwhile.

Many good ones can be found at Project Gutenberg. An enduring classic:
"Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds"

Good books also wear out; this is why the KJV eventually displaced the Geneva Bible, which was banned by the Crown. You needed a letter patent to be able to print any Bible.

whatever freedoms we have had on the internet are quickly disappearing

how can we even imagine free elections if they are shadow banning individuals running for office from posting????

see "google plans censored search engine in china"

see the accusations that social media has blocked 90% of conservative activity

see massive stories about ilsmc violence in europe and anyone speaking out charged with [email protected] speech

these things aren't just coming, they are here

the church is under a delusion to keep thinking life will be normal

If students are arriving at British universities unprepared for higher education, they are still ahead of America. Here they arrive at college not even prepared for lower education.

Which is why we use the library for research with our homeschoolers.

Everybody knows that bias is present in what Google returns. Most adults find it difficult to trust everything they find on the internet. But kids are gullible. Sure Google and the internet has brought information closer to most of the world. But information doesn't equal truth and wisdom is another matter. Sure doesn't equal truth in the library either, and there is plenty of bias, but reference and nonfiction works have a higher probability of being right. And it requires more brain, at least in my opinion.
