Archbishop of Canterbury hosts dialogue with Muslims
The Archbishop of Canterbury recently hosted the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Shaykh Dr Ahmad al-Tayyeb, to discuss how religious leaders can help faith communities address conflict and help their societies to thrive.

The visit celebrated the Emerging Peacemakers Forum, which brought together 50 young Christians and Muslims from around the world to learn about peacebuilding, reconciliation and leadership.

The bishop of Egypt, Mouneer Anis, was present throughout the visit, as were Anglican leaders from places including Pakistan, Bangladesh and the Holy Land.

The Emerging Peacemakers Forum emerged from a meeting between the Archbishop and the Grand Imam in Abu Dhabi in 2016. ...

Why was my response ridiculous? By you stating that the wife of my Baptist Pastor was wrong for stating that Jesus is her homeboy, that is disparaging her. Her own husband(My Baptist Pastor) does not believe that she was wrong to refer to Jesus as her homeboy.

Disparage, John? What in the world are you talking about? Copy and paste where I said or inferred that she wasn't a kind, thoughtful, compassionate, and selfless woman of worth. I don't know whether she is or not, but copy over where I claimed she wasn't.
Then, also copy over the part where I disparaged her, and we'll take it from there.
Tick-tock, my friend, on this ridiculous false accusation.

Just by stating that Pastor's wife was wrong to refer to Jesus as her homeboy is disparaging her.

Dr. James White held an interfaith dialogue with an Imam in 2017 at a church in Tennessee. Dr. White is theologically sound yet did this. This nonsense is not just happening amongst nominal Christians. When someone of Dr. White's caliber does this it should make us all give pause and understand that we should be witnessing to Muslims not dialologing with them.
I cannot believe this long after this event and so much ignorance is still flying concerning this event. Dr. White preached the gospel at this event! Both men affirmed that they were not co-religionists!

Hey John, whatever any elder, deacon, or whoever thinks is totally irrelevant, and useless information. God is an holy God...perfect, pure, and to receive our utmost respect and reverence. I will not stand for you disparaging my pastor's wife. She is a wonderful Christian woman.

Okey dokey, John, I'm responding. Unless your pastor's wife was born in Bethlehem, Jesus ain't her homeboy. And to say that she doesn't mean to be irreverent by referring to the Almighty Son of the living God with such a base epithet is like saying that a woman who dresses like a whore doesn't intend to act like a whore. A little bit hard to believe, wouldn't you say?
I will not stand for you disparaging my pastor's wife or my pastor. It is not being irreverent for my paator's wife to refer to Jesus as her homeboy. None of the Elders or Deacons of my Baptist Church believe it is irreverent.

Janet Mefford did radio shows on that topic that are very informative. according to her research, the imam had connections to radical antiChristian ideology.
I'm not sure what is going on with these older teachers and pastors, that they cannot see the wedges they are putting into the churches, so many are not finishing well. they seem to want, to argue with those coming up behind them who have a greater connection to the downfalls of our society, instead of listening to how their actions are affecting them.
so filled with biblical knowledge but bereft of the pitfalls of our day!

I have to agree with Mefford. This should not have been done in that particular arrangement which is quite different than in Athens when Paul met with idolators.

Good thinking, Bourgoin of SC. One way is to read the info from ACT--the American Congress for Truth, run by a Lebanese Christian woman persecuted by Muslims when they took over Beirut. Another is to read 'The Sword of the Prophet' by Serge Trifkovic.

Christians better begin to educate themselves on the origin, history and intent of Islam. There is no common ground between truth and deception.

Next they will hold conferences with Wiccans and Satanists to see how they can work together to improve interdenominational relations and make the world a safer, happier place with more unicorns.

I can well imagine how the dialogue went. Archbishop: when do you want to take over all Anglican buildings? Next year? OK.
How much will you offer to pay for them? One pound? That's fair. I will warn you they need a lot of repairs, so it might cost you a million pounds to get them in working order, and the heating costs are going 'through the roof' though you friends in the oil business should get you some cheap heating oil. Oh, I forgot, we got read of the oil burners and now only have electric. Something about air pollution that the govt got upset about.
