Trump: Time 'Person' of the Year

This is the 90th time we have named the person who had the greatest influence, for better or worse, on the events of the year. So which is it this year: Better or worse? The challenge for Donald Trump is how profoundly the country disagrees about the answer.

It’s hard to measure the scale of his disruption. This real estate baron and casino owner turned reality-TV star and provocateur—never a day spent in public office, never a debt owed to any interest besides his own—now surveys the smoking ruin of a vast political edifice that once housed parties, pundits, donors, pollsters, all those who did not see him coming or take him seriously. Out of this reckoning, Trump is poised to preside, for better or worse. ...

Hopefully,he will hang this news magazine over the porn one he has hanging on his wall. Why do celebrities so lower themselves to do "interviews" for pornography rags?

willy-nilly, you are quite correct. they wouldn't sell as many copies if they had put on Putin's picture again. ]] (Time's person of the year shouldn’t be Donald Trump – it’s clearly Vladimir Putin) as this opinion writer put it.

I think they did it to sell copies of their magazine at the supermarket check-out lines. They know their circulation numbers and where it is sold most often. Therefore, they tailor the cover pictures so they can sell more, and, of course, so we can talk about it here at SermonAudio with our adoring fans reading every note we add to news stories!

2 Corinthians 11:21-31
To my shame, I must say, we were too weak for that! But whatever anyone else dares to boast of—I am speaking as a fool—I also dare to boast of that. Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they offspring of Abraham? So am I. Are they servants of Christ? I am a better one—I am talking like a madman—with far greater labors, far more imprisonments, with countless beatings, and often near death. Five times I received at the hands of the Jews the forty lashes less one. Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I was adrift at sea; on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers, danger from robbers, danger from my own people, danger from Gentiles, danger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger at sea, danger from false brothers; in toil and hardship, through many a sleepless night, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure. And, apart from other things, there is the daily pressure on me of my anxiety for all the churches. Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is made to fall, and I am not indignant? If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness....ESV

I admire Paul!

But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man's person: ) for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me:

God told us
that persons- even a "person of the year"- don't impress God..

9 And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven;
neither is there respect of persons with him.

But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done:
and there is no respect of persons.
For there is no respect of persons with God
Rom 2:11
My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.

But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
James 2:1&9
And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:
These are murmurers,
walking after their own lusts;
and their mouth speaketh great swelling words,
having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.
Jude 16

"Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:"
Acts 10:34b

Putin, should have been made "Person of the Year," except then that would be twice! Putin did get his Man into the White House. q.v., ]] ( U.S. Intel Agencies Preparing Dossier to Prove Russian Hacks )

No, WFP, Trump got less votes than Hillary. He "resonated" with the right voters to get elected, but he certainly didn't resonate with the majority of voters.

Hillary Clinton " the American Moses " ? Sounds more like she was awarded a "participation ribbon".
Each party had a bad candidate but only one had a message that resonated with the voter. And if we were sick of undeclared wars, we didn't need a president that bragged about killing a country's leader because it felt good.
Trump might be vulgar but, I doubt he'll say," We came , we saw , we killed him!" Whoopee!
