Pollsters suffer huge embarrassment
Pollsters and election modelers suffered an industry-shattering embarrassment at the hands of Donald Trump on Tuesday night.

Trump had long said the polls were biased against him. His claims – dismissed and mocked by the experts – turned out to be true.

“It’s going to put the polling industry out of business,” said CNN anchor Jake Tapper. “It’s going to put the voter projection industry out of business.”

Going into Election Day, a strong majority of pollsters and election modelers forecast that Hillary Clinton would coast to victory, with many predicting she would sweep the battlegrounds and win north of 300 electoral votes. ...

I think they weren't telling us the real results of their own polls but were telling a lie to try to persuade the voters to follower the poll leader, their preferred candidate Hilary Clinton.

With their biased broadcasting they were trying make the news rather than tell the news.

the dems won the popular vote--
Majority Party: House Republicans Win National 'Popular Vote' By Three Million

Republicans captured the majority of the "popular vote" for the House on Election Day, collecting about 56.3 million votes while Democrats got about 53.2 million, according to USA TODAY calculations. With a few races still undecided, Republicans so far hold a 239-193 majority for the next Congress.

House Republicans won the (truly nationwide) "popular vote" by roughly three million votes. This clearly means that they should control all 435 seats in Congress' lower chamber, or democracy is dead, or something! Popular vote! Three million!

Republicans won a majority of House seats by dint of winning approximately 240 miniature popular vote elections in individual Congressional districts. Trump won a majority of the electoral college by winning about 60percent(at least! - may be 75% when dust settles!) of state-level popular votes for president.

Dems?a regional party. The only have 16 Dem governors
They lost Michigan!

Actually, ]]Silvio B. Trump paid them off He wanted to loll the Democrats into complicity so they wouldn't turn out in large numbers! It worked! I think this would be a better conspiracy theory than a lot of others that I have seen on SA through the years.

By the way, ]] (Nine times Donald Trump has already betrayed the US voters who put their faith in him). "Just campaign talk..."

their forecasts were wrong, but all along they have been saying it was a close election, and that turned out to be true. the dems won the popular vote--not too hard when you consider the fact that there are more registered dems. they just did not get the support in the rural and suburban areas.
even in 2012 it was close, but the best friend of the dems, the media, had downplayed that little fact. the lack of support from evangelicals because romney was a mormon may have played a role.

1Sam14:25 But in all Israel there was none to be so much praised as Absalom for his beauty: from the sole of his foot even to the crown of his head there was no blemish in him.
26 And when he polled his head, (for it was at every year's end that he polled it: because the hair was heavy on him, therefore he polled it he weighed the hair of his head at two hundred shekels after the king's weight.
9 And Absalom met the servants of David. And Absalom rode upon a mule, and the mule went under the thick boughs of a great oak, and his head caught hold of the oak, and he was taken up between the heaven and the earth; and the mule that was under him went away.
10 And a certain man saw it, and told Joab, and said, Behold, I saw Absalom hanged in an oak.
Polling well can end up hanging the beneficiary by the same poll.

Live by polls- die by polls.

I think Donald would say, the opposing party's ground game was overrated as are pollsters. I'm a bit cruel but got tickled that when the table began to run in Trump's favor, the crowd started yelling ," lock her up ", and the Clintons party starting crying.
( to BLM wannabe, Colin Keperneck go home to your mama, your protest shelf life is up)
But, if you can fill a stadium with 75,000 people, that you don't pay to fill seats, you win the election. Nothing hard on that one.

Exactly. It isn't just that those majority of pollsters predicting an easy Clinton win were wrong, they were trying to manufacture their desired outcome. They thought the Trump people would get discouraged and stay home. This is some of the "rigged" theme he was talking about during the campaign. The people didn't stay home, but came out in droves. This time the rigging didn't work.
