New York school holds World Hijab Day

Officials at the World [High] School of Inquiry in Rochester, New York, spent a week this month fielding dozens of calls from parents angry about a “World Hijab Day” event that encouraged girls to wear the Muslim religious head covering.

So reports EAGnews.org, the flagship website of Education Action Group Foundation, Inc.

The "Hijab Day" was held in the school on the first Friday of this month, at the request of a sophomore who wears a hijab every day. The principal approved the idea, and teachers brought in 150 scarves for female students to try on and wear for the day. Boys were given carnations to wear in solidarity. ...

G'day, Christopher. Seven is the number of completion, so just one more pill, which is commonly prescribed by theologians, calling it a bitter pill which effects a cure whenever it is required.

Booster Pill No 7
Every Christian needs to realise that indulged sin will have serious repercussions; whereas a godly life of subjection to God and joyful service to him leaves no regret.

Sometimes, our heart is so deceitful that we may not recognise our failing. Thusly, our prayer needs to be, "Search me, O God." In other words, we ask the Lord for his evaluation and look in expectation for his Spirit to give us a jolt, and show us how and why we have displeased him. If therefore the Spirit presses a button, even if it dismays us, the only way forward is to acknowledge and deal with it. We must always realise that God's way for us is always, always, the way of blessing. All sorts of suffering can be coped with when God fills the heart.

Read the Acts of the apostles: "And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Ghost".

And in the epistles: "The kingdom of God is not meat and drink, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost".

Brother, I wish you well, and hope that some of these pills will be effective. I have taken all of them myself.

So good to see brothers in Christ helping one another. I find intercessory prayer so helpful to my own soul so having 2 more brothers to pray for can only help me Stay strong in Christ even through hard times with the hope that one day we will attain a complete Victory. "Whom the LORD loveth he chasteneth.

Don't know anything about that. I try not to think about vegemite, but either way, it's not the gos-pill.

Thanks John, I've copied and pasted everything to my phones Inkpad.
I've always believed that we tend to over complicate things quite often, looking under rocks and behind bushes because there's just got to be more, even adding their own spin to cause excitement, claim new revelations, or just to sound/appear wiser, more intelligent, in touch, etc., claiming a direct pipeline to God as He enlightens with new hidden, or deeper meanings, turning the simple, complicated Maybe it's because some get bored with the simple and basic which is where the we always end up turning back to in the end if we are honestly searching.
My point here is that the most simple things in God's Word are a powerhouse to solving problems, and so much more useful and beneficial than a library full of books on psychiatry by the worlds most brilliant minds.
Excellently put, Christopher. All any of us need from time to time (regularly) is a reminder of the fundamentals, the basic things, those things which will have definite good effect in our walk with God. I am very confident that things can turn around for you.

Dave reckons that vegemite comes in pills.

Last two Booster Pills coming later.

I sure have Christopher, and it nearly brought me to an early grave, but for God's providence and grace.

Booster Pill No 5
Recognise that just as a wrong diet, lack of exercise and lack of sleep can have adverse effects on the physical body, so it is also in our spiritual life, there are things we do/don't do which can adversely affect our spiritual life. The most important thing is to love God with a whole heart, this is the first and great commandment. All else follows from that, and if that is not in place - or has been left - nothing will work properly. It is actually rebellion against God, who has made us and saved us for his glory.

Booster Pill No 6
Meditate often on your redemption. Christ loved the church and gave himself for it. He paid the ultimate price to redeem lost souls and make them his people. He paid it all. Then recognise that God says, "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church." With exactly the same sacrificial love and grace and mercy. Aim there, see it as the right thing to do.

More tomorrow.

Sorry for the delay, bro.

Booster Pill No 3
To whatever degree possible, keep the world out of your home, especially worldly music, worldly media (news etc.), worldly programs. Instead, fill it with worship and praise. Some are incapable of praise when deeply depressed, so put on some praise tapes or CD's. Whatever your tastes are in Christian praise music, whether it be Psalms, Old-Timey Gospel, CCM, traditional hymns, chant, stick it on and say, "Amen" now and again. The Holy Spirit is attracted by praise, it is pure and wholesome, and the devil hates to hear it, so he will depart for easier targets. After a while, you may be able to sing along with memorised words. This will lift you up to God in his holy sanctuary, his blood allows you access there any time day or night. This is the spiritual "mercy seat" where we find grace to help in time of need.

Booster Pill No 4
Go see two or three of your Christian friends on Rhode Island and ask their help by coming to a regular weekly time of prayer at your home. This can become a powerhouse of blessing and recovery. If you cannot pray, just ask them to pray for you. Get a cup and some bread and share communion with them.

Sorry you seem to find a contradiction.
True, sometimes some biblical concepts might seem at odds with each other.
The key here is that all we receive comes out of mercy and grace, (not according to merit), yet simultaneously God, for our profit and good, in his inmense wisdom, holds us accountable to the discipline of obedience. This is the law of cause and effect.
Trust this helps.

Thanks again, John...looking forward to it.

I know I already commented, but I just can't process the double standard on Islam. Not only the double standard, but there mere notion that Americans are expressing their sympathetic solidarity to a religion, a holy book and revered prophet who's mission in life is to take over the world and murder anyone who refuses to become them. Craziness. Kooky liberals who think if they bake enough cookies for them, line the streets with rose pedals in front of them as they walk, and speak with soothing, friendly speech, they will win them over and everyone will hug it out as they walk into the sunset with big smiles.

Ah, looks like great minds really do think alike as we had the same thought at the same time, John. I was waiting to comment because, and I know you were joking, but I really was embarassed. I didn't want any focus on me...something I really try to avoid in life, but at the same time, to be pefectly honest, it's nice to know there are people who genuinly care.
Well I figured it because I knew I would have been embarrassed myself.

Isn't it great that in the midst of all the fierce discussions, there is still lots of love and concern for real life situations?

It sure looks like prayers that have ascended up to God today from many an one, have been answered quite speedily. It's no coincidence bro. He is showing us how love works among God's people. Praise the Lord!!

Don't forget the Booster Pills.

There are more coming tomorrow.
