State forbids pastors calling homosexuality 'sinful'
The state of Kentucky has begun imposing a religious test on volunteer pastor counselors in its youth division, insisting that they refrain from calling homosexuality “sinful” and dismissing those who cannot bend their religious faith to accommodate the state requirements.

The policy was uncovered by Liberty Counsel, which has sent a letter to Bob Hayter, commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice, demanding that the state religious test be dropped and that a dismissed counselor be reinstated.

“Liberty Counsel writes regarding the blatantly unconstitutional revocation of volunteer prison minister status of ordained Christian minister David Wells, who has provided voluntary spiritual counseling and mentorship to juvenile inmates under the control of the Department of Juvenile Justice. … This revocation was issued by Warren County Regional Juvenile Detention Center on the ...

Christopher,
No problem, the issues we discuss have been policy in the psychiatric/ psychology profession for decades. Our nation is just playing catch up on decisions that on a federal we're made in th 1970's. What is different is the determination that the cause of lgbt is now based on civil rights as a determined special race of people.and most important is that 1st admendment rights are set aside in rights of lgbt people. That is now our lives.

Sorry, hope I didn't seem too nosey. I'm self employed but in a type of business where I really won't run into any of the issues some others are having. I'm always curious to read how others are dealing with this or that first hand.

The State of Kentucky has not been given authority to establish what is sin or what is not. Therefore whose conscience would be bothered by ignoring it?

If we can't call it sin,
can we quote the Bible?
the one the Pilgrims brought over?

Geneva bible 1 Cor 6:

9Knowe yee not that the vnrighteous shall not inherite the kingdome of God?
Be not deceiued: neither fornicatours, nor idolaters, nor adulterers,
nor wantons,

nor buggerers,

10 Nor theeues, nor couetous, nor drunkards, nor railers,
nor extortioners shall inherite the kingdome of God.
11And such were some of you:
but yee are washed,
but yee are sanctified,
but yee are iustified in the Name of the Lord Iesus,
and by the Spirit of our God.

Boy Wayfairer, I believe it, but it's hard to believe how society has been duped into believing this is perfectly normal and that so many girls and boys are being born, all of a sudden, trapped in bodies of the opposite gender.
How are you personally dealing with this?

For what it's worth, sadly it is probably the direction most are going, however where I've been working the gospel can be presented if the patient is open to it. If they do not consent, they are considered to be a in vulnerable state and one should respect their position. My Bible is open for most visits though some decline. My take is that it's more often the unbelieving family members that complain more that the one facing eternity.

I am under the impression that “Big Brothers” has had a requirement for years that someone can’t attempt to evangelize the children they are trying to help. The U.S. is a pluralistic country where it is thought that it is okay to be a Christian, but don't tell others they have to become Christians or they will face the wrath of our holy and just God.
And if you are a business owner and try and determine who you will sell to and who you won't (no homosexuals) then you will lose the law suit that will be filed against you. Same goes for teachers, politicians, et al.

If you get out of Babylon you can protect all and keep the war on Babylon alive. Otherwise you just feed satan's power. And for all you pathetic calvinists who think this is all God's will, you pathetic deviants will have your time on judgement day.
Sir, its not just the "calvinists" but American Christianity that says keep quiet. They love ease, money, and pleasure just like the world. Tax exemption keeps many quiet and many are not true belivers anyway.

I entirely agree, for those who can. and especially those who have perverted God's word with false theology to make their apathy towards evil acceptable. Scripture warns to "get out of her my people".... the idolatry of it will be so powerful that a choice will have to be made to "get out"... I believe this to be primarily spiritual, but also physical if one is able and God calls them to it. I agree about people who see evil being done and call it "God's Will" is a form of spiritual deviancy.

Thanks for the encourging words. I can tell that the Holy Spirit is overflowing in you today. Your comments are indistinguishable from what Christ Himself might have said. He most certainly wouldn't have explained why their wrong and grieved for them, that's for sure. He would have probably just snickered and said," see you fools on judgement day, where you'll get yours, hehe". : /
