Rand Paul: Gay Marriage a ‘Moral Crisis’

Rand Paul called the push for same-sex marriage a “moral crisis” during a private prayer breakfast in Washington, D.C. “The moral crisis we have in our country, there is a role for us trying to figure out a thing like marriage,” Paul said Thursday on video obtained by CBN News’s David Brody. “There’s also a moral crisis that allows people to think there would be some sort of other marriage.”

Morality cannot get a person into heaven. Only being justified by Christ and imputed righteousness.
The Law is replete with morality. But man could not keep the Law. It was given to bring us to Christ; the only one who could satisfy God's justice.
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit (Romans 8:2-5).
JESUS PAID IT ALL! John 6 says "Believe. Believe. Believe." For it is God who works in you both to will and to do of his pleasure (Philippians 2:13). Our part is to believe that if we apply Romans 12 and have our minds changed, our emotional choices will follow that which the Law requires and is pleasing to God – godly behavior; pure thoughts; manifestation of Christ in us the hope of glory.
Now the message to be preached is Christ, crucified (1 Corinthians 2:2). BELIEVING IN AND UPON CHRIST IS THE ISSUE. Look unto him. Put away Catholic dogma and apply De. 8:4; Mat 4:4; Lk 4:4; Jn 6:63.

I believe I have a far better question (actually 3) to ask then whether or not certain professing Catholics ought to be excommunicated by their very own religion

Who might be considered 'salt that has lost its savour' and is good for nothing anymore, not even the manure pile, but to be cast out and trampled under foot by men?

Who might be included in those who call Jesus, 'Lord, Lord', that He will tell depart from Me, I NEVER knew you (because) who have practised iniquity (lawlessness)?

And what church members who thought they were rich and had need of nothing (like repentance, like disregarding His word and not taking it seriously, like not making their calling and election sure, actually opening their hearts to Jesus) will Jesus spew (vomit) out of His mouth?

Jim L., The difference is that the doctrines I reject and repudiate are not morality. But if a Catholic supports homosexuality, abortion and artificial birth control then they are immoral and should be excommunicated.

Maybe they are only doing what you do, deciding for themselves what part of Catholicism they think is Biblical and which isn't, while they keep right on calling themselves Catholic, participating in the mass, with other Catholics like yoursef. By the way if God ever has mercy on you to save you out of all wilfull ignarance/disobedience/opinions ... whatever that you are into, you will be become part of sinners who are saved and kept saved only by the grace of God BUT also by His mercy and grace are growing up into a true experiential knowledge of Jesus Christ, the Risen Son of God, in the Spirit

John, John.
Jesus did not come to make us moral. He came to make us RIGHTEOUS; to put us in right standing with God. A change of heart produces the kind of morality God accepts. I can be seen among men who don't measure themselves by themselves. E.g. Christ is the standard; not men. Those that compare themselves with others are not wise. Morality can keep a nation safe. Men have set up laws to do so, and have failed. However, God has given man civil laws for the unrighteous.
A person doing good works (to be seen of men) can have the most corrupt heart. The works of a righteous man are motivated by God to please God and not men. He does not expect the praise of men.
We have heard over and over again about the filthy garments of self-righteousness.
Isn't it strange RCC leaders dress to be recognized? God's Son said 'away with those robes.' And our Lord in the days of his flesh was not even recognized.

John Y., is the archbishop going to excommunicate the Pope. By the way, if they knew all the hierarchies (those that the Romish Church considers as such) that you have spouted over the years, you would be the first one to be kicked out the door.

Nosey and Michael have given you good answers, and you still participate giving money and attending Mass to this criminal organization. If you had an inkling what Christianity is, you would ]]Come out of the Catholic Church now!

John, John. You seem to be a pillar of Catholicism. Their historical abuses are enough to leave that organization. Where is redemption through Christ alone, through faith alone, by grace alone in this catholic hogwash? Their superfluous dogma overshadows Isaiah 8:20 and blinds men to the truth of the person and final work of God's Son, Jesus Christ. He is the centerfold of life. Where is Christ, John? Let's talk about his doctrine for all men for all times. This is eternal life (John 17:3). Sadlly, many catholics don't even know if they are saved. But then that's because they have to pass "GO" (Purgatory) first. Here' a benefit: Heb 10:10-14, 17, 18; and 6:4, 6. The MASS is an abomination to God.
Why people don't leave that ponzi scheming company baffles most ex cath. and genuine believers. Tired of talking about Catholicism. Their practices speak so loudly, it deafens them.

Good point John Y. A majority of protestants support gay marriage now(60%, almost a double in 10 years), and ALREADY its being reflected in a change of doctrine in many denominations. However, the RCC is holding its ground for now. One might attribute that to the international nature of the RCC, or the seemingly irreversible view of marriage as a sacrament

Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness (first table violations) and unrighteousness of men,(second table violations) who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

The whole of Romans 1 is a commentary on the present unraveling of society v.17 ends with 'the just hall live by faith'

v.24 to the end of the chapter is the downward spiral that opposing God's word at any point will eventually lead to without repentance and faith. Ephes 2:8-10

Well I am glad when anyone does or says something to slow down this homosexual agenda. But, many will then equate what he is saying to scripture. No it is not, scripture says that homosexuality is an abomination and the punishment established by God was death. It doesn’t allow for civil unions or acceptance of any kind. Telling part of the truth is what our “conservative” politicians do and it has the effect of dummying down the word of God. And even worse, since they are all that is left for us, we then think they are representing Christ and true Christian morals. These people are simply different shades of the same color. There is no high level politician that can be a practicing Christian. If they are they wouldn’t be elected. Can anyone imagine Rand saying that homosexuals are an abomination and they will suffer God’s wrath and be elected.

This is why I consider myself to be a stranger and alien in this evil world.

One way to deal with those who call Christians 'homophobic', 'intolerant' 'bigot', etc; is to be armed with the testimonies of 'Gays and Lesbians' who have been converted 'such were some of you' I Cor 6: 9-11 as the book above re: a former Lesbian activist and English professor.

We can turn the tables and show that 'Gays' can provide no scientific evidence (the so called gay gene), but we can provide hard evidence of 'Gays' who, converted by the grace of God, have changed their lives and their views to accept the reality of the Holy Scriptures-God's view.

Now we can challenge their own bigotry and intolerance and Christophobia by asking why they can't accept the testimony of Gays who have changed. Methinks they are in trouble and their use of 'intolerant bigot' is soon proven to be invalid WHEN these former homosexuals and Christ haters are now the very ones lovingly reaching out to those who are as they once were.

Good for Paul here but he regards same sex civil unions as a legitimate option for them to receive marriage tax and other benefits, as if government (and therefore all of us) should endorse.

if there was ever a time to talk about this it would be now. Supreme Court ready to make their "ruling" this summer. In one swift blow they could make it illegal for all 501c3 corporations to engage in their non profit business without recognizing this abomination.

The spiritual battle is on two fronts. One is the societal dictates that either stand in a protective manner towards the younger generations and the continuance of society (if they all go "gay" they will be ruled by islm), and the second, the taking of the gospel as individuals to those who are still in their sins. Christ is the Son of God and died for the sins of those who would believe in HIm and confess His name, to give them a new nature, born from above.
