Bill Nye: We need a carbon tax to ‘redistribute wealth’
Speaking to students at the University at Albany, Bill Nye the Science Guy said that a carbon tax was needed for the purpose of redistributing wealth.

"We need, dare I say it, a tax, or should I say a fee," Nye purportedly said Wednesday, right before an anonymous student began recording.

“It’s not just to be mean, it’s to redistribute wealth,” Nye said.

Nye went on to claim that instituting such a tax would drive innovation in more environmentally friendly ways.

The rhetoric from the left is bordering on the ridicules. First, we were warned against carbon monoxide
(so far so good) Then people were warning against carbon dioxide. Guess they thought the plants had too much to breath. Now there are those that are saying we need to remove all carbon for the planet to be safe. Excuse me; isn't all life on the planet carbon based? Guess we need to remove all life so the rocks will be safe.

Yep, carbon tax is a fairy story like Santa or the Easter bunny. Nothing to give themselves.

No a Catholic Christian is not an oxymoron if a Catholic comes to trust in Jesus alone for salvation and has embraced Jesus as their Personal Savior.

NB, I will add one correction,

' "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely."

'This is commonly referred to as Lord Acton's dictum. But it is the third phrase in this quote that might be the most important, if little-known:

' "Great men are almost always bad men."

'Most people who quote Lord Acton's Dictum are unaware that it refers to Papal power and was made by a Catholic, albeit not an unquestioning one.'
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lord_Acton

One should add for the fellow above, ]]Is A Catholic Christian An Oxymoron? and ]]Is the One True Church Roman Catholic?

I don't think Australia, even the Liberals who put in the Carbon Tax saw it as means as redistributing wealth, but rather a question of "global warming," but anyway,

]]Carbon tax scrapped: PM Tony Abbott sees key election promise fulfilled after Senate votes for repeal. I don't believe even poor people liked it, So, Bill Nye better put that into his test tube again.

Right on, Pennned. Those who don't learn history are bound to repeat it. Great example of using Russia. But is that fact even common knowledge....? NO!!! I have a doctorate plus several hours towards a masters degree and never once learned any of this stuff until homeschooling my kiddos... I'll add another example: during the depression, our govt had much surplus grain that they chose not to distribute despite their citizens starving. The US govt hasn't exactly been the infallible "good guy" that has been portrayed in the textbooks.

And a big "thumbs up" for Joel Salatin. He is an excellent example and resource!!

Forced wealth redistribution never results in equality and harmony. Rather it exemplifies Orwell's "power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely..."

yep, redistribution, or world commsm or world order, whatever you have it. agenda 21, ICLEI, the redistribution of land to a few and the world owned and run by them, while the "useless eaters" are corralled into cities and rationed gm foods. no one wants to believe it yet another story was reading yesterday about a healthy family farm run over and their wealth taken and put in public coffers. but could this happen before our eyes and we wouldn't see it? yes, this can happen before our very eyes while they tell the public sweet nothings.

Did the Rothschilds create the imf and the carbon credit concept where the world owes them a "tax" for their breathe?

what are their deindustrialization goals for America?

if they wanted to save the environment from our huge corporations, instead of forcing us on meat from china and forcing everyone into vegetarianism, why don't they open the land for true land ownership and local trade of goods? why not milk one's own cow and eggs from one's own chickens and use our land for victory gardens, fertilize the ground and rebuild the soil as Salatin has? why did Russians starve under communism when they had vast land wealth as a nation? more questions I ask...
