‘Family Guy’ Christmas Episode: Jesus a Lying, Sex-Crazed Adulterer

“Family Guy,” an edgy cartoon known for pushing boundaries, aired a Christmas-inspired episode Sunday night about Jesus that has some viewers angry and others praising the show for its purported “bravery.”

NewsBusters, for one, said that the episode went “above and beyond the usual sacrilege.”

Titled, “The 2,000-Year-Old Virgin,” it surrounds character Peter Griffin, among others, trying to help Christ lose his virginity, according to Christian Today.

Where is all the Christian outrage?

If thsi was about Islam, there would be riots in the streets.

Time to stand up to these people.

once you turn off the propaganda machine, its easy to see when you turn it on the brainwashing that it is. and the commercials, so bogus, people believe that stuff. I remember used to be that pharmaceuticals could not advertise, once got advertising in mid 90's now the endless pictures of happy people dancing through the air because of some drug, with a fast list at the end of, well, also it "destroys your liver and can cause death." --- people find this entertaining??

and they usually make the men look like raving idiots.

that bugs me too.

the more I observe society the more I wonder if its not just some kind of mind control experiment. people believe the tv and their whole knowledge set is based on that!

No surprise here. While they are vile in their presentation, they are true to themselves. I guess it's just one of the repercussions of trying to christianize days that were not meant to be holy.

I've gotten to where I watch less and less of these shows. I like humor, and making fun of 'churches' or 'religion' in general is fair game, but when they start to make fun or Jesus or even Mary (I'm not Catholic, but she's still blessed and the mother of our Lord) and I have to turn it. Admittedly I don't always turn it fast enough...hence my desire to avoid the shows totally...but most the time once the line is crossed I'm quick to get out of there.

We all have our short comings and we shouldn't have our eyes on anything against the Lord, but I'm almost convinced that watching girls gone wild or the like is better than some of these cartoons and sit coms. It makes me sad that something can't be "funny" without emasculating men--especially fathers--on a side note I wish I'd given my own late father a lot more respect than 'joking' so much in my own life influenced by these shows--, throwing in a homosexual character or two, and generally belittling good, traditional values be they Christian specific or not.

I still struggle when it comes to watching some of my favorite shows, but when it comes down to it if the show promotes the sin and you support the show...then you are supporting the sin whether the show is 'real' or not has no bearing.

Jude 16. These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.
17. But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
18. How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
19. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

If I remember right, the creators of southpark were going to do an episode making fun of Mohammed, but they recieved so much backlash and death threats that they didnt air the episode.

I used to watch The Simpsons too (which is quite clever with its humour).

Then I saw an episode where Homer became a priest over the Internet and started marrying homosexuals in his garage.

I told my youth leader how I disagreed with it and she challenged me to stop watching it. I was a new covert at the time and was wet behind the ears.

I haven't watched it as such since. I've seen a handful of episodes in the last 10 years but that's it.

I've never been a fan of cartoon type shows, but sadly, my wife records this show. The article timing is interesting because I looked at the description the day it was to record, saw the content and cancelled the recording. She won't be happy when she notices it, but too bad...mocking Christ, animal s*x, an old sodomite neighbor, etc, etc...really, really terrible show once you have been born again and can seperate what's good from what's evil.

This show is evil. They mock Jesus within the first few minutes of the first episode. It pretty much sets up the tone for the show.

They only do this, and are praised for it, because either Christians are silent like Christ before Pilate and the Phariseesx or they like the show.
If they were " edgy", why don't they have Mohammed as a pedophile during Ramadan? Hypocritical cowards.

The creators of this show are atheists and will be in for a surprise when they come to the end of their days and meet Jesus and are tossed into Hell for all eternity for rejecting Jesus as God and for not embracing Him as their Savior. Then they will wish that they had not done the bidding of their god Satan.

I've found myself turning the TV off midway through episodes of Family Guy, South Park and the Simpsons because they mock Christ. There are a number of things I just can't watch anymore, and this is not because I am prudish in any way but rather because it just makes me sad. The creators of these shows are so funny and talented but it grieves me to see them mock the Lord in such a way.

I use to watch this show. After I got saved there was just no way I could continue watching it. I also use to watch southpark when I was younger, and they made fun of Jesus in like half their episodes. The reprobates can have their laughs, theyll be screaming for mercy in the end.

2 Peter 2:12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
