Christian Homeschooling Family Continues Fight for Custody of Children
On November 21st 2013, the seven children of Trevor and Christina Tutt were seized by government officials. The Texan family has ministered to children for years, rearing several biological children, providing foster care for others, and adopting several more. The Tutts homeschool, and “feel called to adopt and raise children from difficult backgrounds in a healthy Christian home,” reports Christian News Network. The seizure of their children came about after a local police officer found that the Tutt’s four year old with autism had wandered a short distance away from the house. Even though Trevor Tutt was found to be nearby, searching for the child, the incident was reported to Child Protective Services – who, after an initial investigation, found no cause for alarm or intervention. And then they, in turn, would pull out their guns. Either you would step down, definitely lose your kids, and the media would publish an article about "crazy conservative Christians", or you would shoot one, get killed yourself, the children would get put in the system, and an article about "crazy and dangerous conservative Christians" would be written.
Either way, the kids lost, and more importantly the Kingdom is damaged.
If I was the father of that family I would have refused to hand the children over to state officials by standing at the door with a gun trained on the state officials telling them they had no authority to remove the children.
