Al and Tipper Gore, married 40 years, to separate
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Former Vice President Al Gore and his wife, Tipper, are separating after 40 years of marriage that included a White House run when their sunny relationship offered a counterpoint to President Bill Clinton's philandering.

According to an e-mail circulated among the couple's associates on Tuesday, the Gores said it was "a mutual and mutually supportive decision that we have made together following a process of long and careful consideration."

Gore spokeswoman Kalee Kreider confirmed the statement came from the Gores, but declined to comment further.

The Gores were telling friends they "grew apart" after 40 years of marriage and there was no affair involved, according to two longtime close associates and family friends, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because it was a personal matter. ...

Something interesting to note, Al and Tipper Gore may have never gotten divorced, at least I put my I can see here in 2020

From what I've also read, they both may have committed adultery, however ❗👎

Staying on topic, something Mr. Gore apparently didn't do,

Ecclesiastes 9
9 Enjoy life with the woman whom you love all the days of your fleeting life which He has given to you under the sun; for this is your reward in life, and in your toil in which you have labored under the sun.
Malachi 2
14 "Yet you say, 'For what reason?' Because the LORD has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant.
15 "But not one has done so who has a remnant of the Spirit. And what did that one do while he was seeking a godly offspring? Take heed then, to your spirit, and let no one deal treacherously against the wife of your youth.
1 Corinthians 7
2 But because of immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.
3 Let the husband fulfill his duty to his wife, and likewise also the wife to her husband.---]]NASB

Matthew 19
3 And some Pharisees came to Him, testing Him, and saying, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any cause at all?"
4 And He answered and said, "Have you not read, that He who created them from the beginning MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE,
5 and said, 'FOR THIS CAUSE A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER, AND SHALL CLEAVE TO HIS WIFE; AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH'?
6 "Consequently they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate."---]]NASB

Oh,

"And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for *immorality*, and marries another woman commits adultery."
So previously (AV), *fornication* was the ONLY ground for divorce; but now, because of the NASB, you can divorce if your spouse is simply *immoral*.

So much for progress, Jessica.

Jessica Dawson, and interesting example, and it shows why one should use a Bible in contemporary North American English! The so-called informal meaning for "put away" is to kill!

You are quite right to castigate and censure sermonaudio for phasing out the members surveys, within which was a most suitable survey entitled "Which Bible Version Do You Use" and which was the ideal ground for debate on the issue, which issue is crucial, for if we have not the word of God in neither Hebrew, nor Greek, nor Latin, nor especially in English, then our Christian belief structures including statements of faith, confessions, sermons on inerrancy etc. will have to be reviewed and possibly abolished, maybe along with our own profession of faith and the only solution would be to...............................

go join the religious society of friends.
