Catholics and Muslims Pledge to Improve Links
VATICAN CITY — Catholic and Muslim leaders worked on Thursday to deflate suspicion between their two faiths, pledging at a high-level seminar here to work together to condemn terrorism, protect religious freedom and fight poverty.

The meeting came a year after 138 Muslim leaders wrote a letter to Pope Benedict XVI after he offended many Muslims by quoting a Byzantine emperor who called some teachings of the Prophet Muhammad “evil and inhuman.” In turn, top Vatican officials have worried about freedom of worship in majority-Muslim countries, as well as immigration that is turning Europe, which they define as a Christian continent, increasingly Muslim. ...

To John Y:
You are in the big leagues now in this discussion group. You cannot fool any of us with slipping in your propaganda about the RCC "worships Jesus". This is not true. They worship a false Christ. The true Lord Jesus Christ of the Word of God finished, and finished alone, the work of redemption of His people (Matt 1:21 You shall call his name JESUS for He shall save His people from their sin) True Christians worship our true Redeemer and Lord, Jesus Christ. We do not give His glory to another, i.e., a pope, Mary, man appointed "saints", 666 works gospels. So RCC do call someone Jesus, but they have made their Jesus in their own image; RCCs deny the true Christ. Muslims have a Jesus also; theirs is as false as the RCC's Jesus. Buddhists even will acknowledge a Jesus. Our Lord warns that there will be many false Christs. This is what He speaks of. Which Jesus do you worship? If it is the true Christ of the Bible you will depart out of the RCC.

Satan and his demons acknowledge Christ and the Trinity but they are not believers.

Rome, its Pope and it's followers are not christian. they preach a different Gospel. They preach works, they pray to Mary as mediator, they worship the Eucahrist, they pray to dead saints, they bow to statues...

I could go on and on and on.

The Pope is and always will be that man of sin, the Anti-Christ as so eloquently described in the great protestant confessions of faith.

The analysis / explanation Nathan from Australia gives in his post to the cozy Catholic / Muslim relations seems the most plausible.

". . . broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat" Matt. 7:13b

A former Catholic converted to Christ!

"But by the grace of God I am what I am:" 1 Cor. 15:10a

Truth be known they are probably discussing if they should keep it secret how the Vatican helped create Islam, how they can become one faith under his antichristness the Pope.
As far as history goes, the whole "we hate them and they hate us" is a charade to obtain "the goal".

That's why we have had the Hegelian dialectic put into practice.
Communism against Capitalism to obtain global fascism, USA against Russia to obtain international hegemony, Islam against Christendom to obtain syncratism
of the pagan beliefs, ie: Baal worship and Ashteroth, Ishtar, Isis worship.

Lance, if the RCC was reasoning from the Scriptures that Jesus is the Christ and Son of God in these discussions with Muslims, I could certainly give my approval, but I don't see this occuring.
If that approach were taken, the talks would break down at once.

Remember the Roman motto: "Think in centuries."

John, I am almost positive from reading the New Testament, that the devils in hell and satan himself acknowledge the deity of Christ and his divine sonship. Apostle James says, "Even the devils believe and tremble.." and elsewhere it is recorded the demons acknowledged Jesus as being the holy one of God. However, they will suffer eternal torments along will all who have heeded their false teachings. "Come out from among them," before it is too late. Enough Already, speaks very honestly about the issue...people trusting in how many rosaries they prayed, that they go to church not on sunday only but on the holy days assigned by the pope, etc..to make sure they have covered their sins. That is not the Biblical gospel.

RC's are not unbelievers because the RCC has always acknowledged the Deity Of Jesus and the Holy Trinity. An unbeliever is someone who denies that Jesus is God and denies the Holy Trinity. So knock off this insanity that RC's are unbelievers in Jesus.

If you think that, you have absolutely no understanding of the Roman church.

Give it time and we may see the Roman church cease to exist as it is amalgamated with Islam into some new kind of eclectic religion. They are getting pretty close to that, at least in words..and now actions are following. "Come out from among them and be ye separate..touch not the unclean thing."

What is with the Vatican anyway? Why does it want to have anything to do with Islam when Islam denies that Jesus is God and thus worships Satan whereas Catholicism has always acknowledged that Jesus is God and thus worships Jesus?

From the Article: "protect religious freedom"

Will this "religious freedom" apply only to them or others who refuse to submit to the Pope or the Koran?
