Pornography has become the latest threat to graves and memorials on the First World War battlefields of northern France
While common acts of desecration have in the past included vandalism and graffiti, indecent photographs and videos are increasingly being shot around the magnificent structures built during the post-war years to remember the fallen.

The latest incident saw a French couple given a four-month suspended prison sentence for making a pornographic video at the Vimy Ridge memorial near Arras.

Despite the courageous deeds and sacrifice honoured by the Vimy Memorial, the couple are believed to have stripped naked and performed sex acts beside the soaring stone structure.

They then posted the video on a website, invited people to pay to watch it. ...

I fell down on this PBS special, I don't think I watched all of it! It looks like you can still see all the episodes on the Internet, q.v., ]]The Great War

Mike of N.Y., I've seen you have been around for quite while on SA! Always adding interesting remarks like the one before mine!

"Invaders of Native America.."? "We vs them mentality"? "If it weren't for England there would be no USA.."? Good ones! Of course the king's "lawful power" came from his sword, didn't it? Same as pretty much the source of all kings' "lawful power." btw, who invited the Saxons and Normans to come to England, stay and rule over the native population with their "lawful power"? Who is "we"? Who is "them"? What would England look like today if the descendants of German and Norsemen invaders went back to where their ancestors came from?

The king's lawful power indeed.

War is not addictive? Give me a break. There's been war at least as long as there has been pornography. Amanda is right. War is the obscenity! I like the way you started writing about America and ended up writing about "we". That's the problem guy, it's your "we" vs. "them" mentality which is prevalent when testosterone overcomes rational thinking. If it weren't for England there would be no USA, since that's where the invaders of Native America came from, and if it were not for France there would be no USA, since it was the French who helped the American "rebellion" against the King's lawful power. As for Israel, if they couldn't buy the USA they would have bought someone else. Their tentacles extend beyond mom, apple pie, and Chevrolet. As much as you Prots condemn Rome, you have a bit of the Inquisition in you all. You'll turn the world to Christ even if you have to kill them all to do it.

Uh Amanda - yes it is more obscene. Usually people don't get addicted to war, like a pornography addiction. And, the sin of fornication is a sin against your own body, which is the most destructive sin there is.

And, if you are referring to the USA and their greed for wealth and power, please remember that if America wanted to own this planet, we could have already!!! If it weren't for the USA, there would be no France, or England, or Israel. And Russia and Germany would still be out to overtake the world...like Islam is doing in this generation.

God has allowed governments to go to war, just like he told Israel to many times.

Is illicit sex any more obscene than illicit war? Did the couple who had sex desecrate the memory of those dead soldiers any more than the national leaders whose greed for wealth and power started the conflict? James 4:1,2. "From whence come wars and fightings among you? Come they not hence , even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war etc..."
