yes the christian has a purpose in this life and future life after death. the christian faith grows gradually and fill the heart with trust that lead him to true joy.
Some atheists recognize this as reality. They maintain that the most realistic outlook should be far more pessimistic. I find the militant atheist syndrome to be quite the anomaly. In their attempts to eliminate faith the only thing that they have to replace it with is the nihilism that is inherent to it. Let us pray that they will come to know the author of life.
If I didn't believe in God, then I wouldn't have a reason to wake up in the morning. I enjoy reading, playing videogames, watching movies/tv, listening to music, and even work on a rare occasion. I like talking with my family and friends, and even the struggle or challenge of living is a good thing. If I didn't believe that I could see my family again someday, then I would never be happy. All the entertainment that is fun now would be empty and bitter because I couldn't share with anybody. I wouldn't get too close to anybody, even family, because the pain of losing them would be so great. If I didn't believe in God I wouldn't want to live, because there would be no point. I have a lot of nice things and a good family, but if God wasn't there what good would it be. Imagine how bad an atheist, espescially one who is not worldly rich, has to feel.
And for all the wrong reasons according to worldly standards.
Luke 6:20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
21 Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.
23 REJOICE YE IN THAT DAY, and LEAP FOR JOY: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
