COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Rev. Ted Haggard, who stepped down as head of the 30 million-member National Association of Evangelicals on Thursday after allegations that include having gay sex, has confessed to some of the allegations, a fellow pastor said in an e-mail to church members.
"It is important for you to know that he confessed to the overseers that some of the accusations against him are true,” Ross Parsley, the acting senior pastor at New Life Church stated. Haggard on Thursday also stepped aside as leader of the 14,000-member New Life Church, based in Colorado Springs.
“He has willingly and humbly submitted to the authority of the board of overseers, and will remain on administrative leave during the course of the investigation,” the e-mail stated. A copy was obtained by KMGH-TV in Denver....
Ah, believer, [URL=http://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?currSection=sermonssource&sermonID=11005171618]]]The Believer and Politics[/URL]
It looks like Haggard is before a board of priests? Haggard should move on, and stay out of the ministry, since it is quite evident he isn't qualified for it.
No Independents are running here in Maryland. I, myself, am an Independent voter and will remain so. The message here is that any government constituted by sinful men will on even its best day remain sinful and self-serving.
Mike from P.A said..a believer: DO not stay home and refrain from voting. Prayerfully ask God for guidance, and then vote for the man who lines up the most with biblical convictions and qualities. I know it is hard at times. Whenever possible, we need to support those who will uphold our liberties, and not run our nation further into the ground. Dont you have independants over there or do you have just Dem- Rep. Dont you have Bible Beliving Independant? Why I ask is just voting for a person who lines up the most doesn,t serve anything I belive your better off not voting at all. Then if you get enough of them then the two parties might listen more. By the other way all you do is get a group complying one better than the opposition but then do the same with other groups. Having Independants is best. That is why for the first time over here independants better Independance have the balance of power. cheers.
I don't think most people are aware of just what Haggard preached or what his church was really like. Its his friendship with Bush that he's really known for. I believe Tom Brokaw was trying to educate the public with his church when he did his special on TV with Haggard about a year ago. I saw it and man, what an eye opener.
If you think Haggard preached the Gospel and Bush is a Christian, you might well want to check your interpretation of salvation and the Christian's life versus the Bible's.
"Our only real hope is not found in the politicians. We stand in need of a merciful God's sovereign intervention with a mighty awakening that would turn us back to him."
Amen to that. And I believe it is at hand to come; for the good of many but for the hurt of many more.
I'm glad he stepped down. I've followed Ted Haggard for about a year or so now and I can't say I'm shocked at the scandal. Be sure your sin will find you out. Its the same truth for Haggard as it is for the rest of us.

What we are witnessing is the result of over 100 years of declension in the pulpits of our nation. As the pulpits went, so went the people in the pew. Bible denying apostates have been, and are now leading churches in apostacy ,and the ecumenical movement that is currently aligning with Rome. The majority of churches do not take a stand against error. World Council, National Council, National Association of Evangelicals...the list is long.
Our only real hope is not found in the politicians. We stand in need of a merciful God's sovereign intervention with a mighty awakening that would turn us back to him.
Maybe God is using this, the Foley scandal, and other filth to expose the Republicans for what they are. I don't care what argument you want to make, they are not any different than the Democrats. They just do a better job of fooling so called evangelicals into believing that they are God's representatives and spokespersons here on earth. Actually heard a man say he was voting for the Republicans in my state of Maryland because he is a Christian. Wow, our Governor, who is a Republican, runs on a platform supporting abortion, stem cell research, picks a Romanist as his LT Government..and yet he is perceived to be a Christian. No, I'm not a Democrat, nor am I a republican. As a matter of fact, I'll probably vote for a Republican governor who believes that killing babies is okay. Yet I won't vote for the Republican senatorial candidate who doesn't believe in abortion, yet believes it's okay to send our youth off to die in an unjust and unprovoked war. Almost ready to believe that Christians should just stay home and leave participation in this worlds government to where it belongs..the truly ungodly.
Pastor Haggard was a close confidant of President Bush and according to Haggard spoke with him each Monday.I can't help but believe Bush knew about Haggards personal life just as he knew about Mark Foleys.Something smells rotten in Washington and it seems to be emanating from the Bush Camp.As much as I disagree with certain elements of the Democratic Platform such as abortion and gay rights I'm voting for Democrats on Tuesday who oppose President Bush on Iraq. From the book Tempting Faith to numerous other issues I can no longer be used by President Bush or support anyone else who supports his programs.
Time to drag yourselves out of the middle ages of religious belief people. How about "Do unto others...? How about live and let live? Be honest with yourself and others and quit hiding behind centuries old parables. Wake up!
OK, he has admitted to --- 'SOME' --- of the allegations
"...he confessed to the overseers that some of the accusations against him are true."
"...remain on administrative leave during the course of the investigation."
Rev. Ted Haggard **CANNOT** remain in his position over the 14,000 member Church and he **MUST** STEP DOWN as head of the 30 million-member National Association of Evangelicals.
He needs to be cradled in the Loving arms of The Body of Christ and set on a course of restoration. There will be Healing NEEDED on his part and throughout The Body of Believers --- this will TAKE TIME...

Adminstrative leave! He has already admitted, in effect, he is not fit to be a leader of a church.
(AV) Titus 1 5. For this cause I left thee in Crete, that thou mightest go on to set right what remained [unordered], and establish elders in each city, as *I* had ordered thee: 6. if any one be free from all charge [against him], husband of one wife, having believing children not accused of excess or unruly. 7 For the overseer must be free from all charge [against him] as God's steward; not headstrong, not passionate, not disorderly through wine, not a striker, not seeking gain by base means; 8 but hospitable, a lover of goodness, discreet, just, pious, temperate, 9 clinging to the faithful word according to the doctrine taught, that he may be able both to encourage with sound teaching and refute gainsayers.
