The "anguished souls" of the south east Asia disaster are our neighbours - and need all the help we can give, DUP leader Ian Paisley said today.
It would be the individual contributions which would turn the scales in facing such a terrible disaster, he said in a New Year message.
Mr Paisley warned those who had survived have more disasters ahead in terms of separation, clothing, shelter and disease as well as requiring much-needed medical help.
"These anguished souls are our neighbours and as Christians we are to love our neighbours as ourselves," he said.
