i dont disagree with what the Word of God says, im simply saying that money is not neccessarily the problem, its the love of money...which leads to all kinds of evil (paraphase) In some cases many of these evangelists may love money, i dont know...but to paint anyone with some or alot of money as evil or whatever is foolish, b/c there are many Godly people that have money and Godly people that do not...
enough already wrote: scdg, here's some wonderful words of wisdom from Almighty God that puts it all into perspective, 'Remove far from me vanity and lies, give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me. Lest I be full and deny thee and say 'Who is the Lord?' Or lest I be poor an steal and take the name of my God in vain. Proverbs 30:8-9. Also this from 1st Timothy 6:6-8, 'But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.'
i think that there is nothing wrong with giving money to ministries as long as you find out about them before you give. For all those that are quick to cut down the health and wealth gospel, remember, most of us in this country or on this side on the world are far richer than millions around the world. The bible does say that some will use the word of God for financial gain, so none of this really should be a surprise. In general there is nothing wrong with having money, as along as it doesnt control you, and you know who is the Provider which is God. I think it is wrong to say that to be a christian means that you have to be wealthy, because some people dont have much, it has nothing to do with their faith. If we do have excess in money we should use it to bless others...and agree with the people above that say that giving to your local church is important, because thats where it begins...
